You see one of the perks to having no friends is that I don't have to listen to tier problems. Like for instance I don't have to cry with someone about a break up, I don't have to go to parties for relatives, and most importantly I don't have to hold anyone's poorly maintained hair back while they vomit into a filthy bacteria covered toiled in the bathroom of someone's party house. So unsanitary.
Antway school was boring. Did I attend anyway, yes. Did I make a valiant effort to participate, no. Did I get called on during world history, yes. “Mr. Phoenix!” My God teachers these days are overly enthusiastic. “What is something you've noticed about your generation compared to Generations before you? That question could have not been any more generic, so pompously I had to give the most serious answer that came to mind. “ One thing that I've noticed while attending school is that we are the generation of participation trophies. We come late, we leave early and we get the same recognition as everybody else who actually makes an effort. it seems to be a trend with our generation that no one is allowed to be less than so we're all put up on a pedestal that we don't deserve to be on.” That was a little less analytical than I intended but whatever. “ That is an interesting observation, are you implying that your generation has no work ethic?”
My God he wants me to say more. I saw that that was going to be enough to shake him off. “ No ‘mR.bAkEr’ I'm implying that we're not allowed to be successful nor are we allowed to fail because that would make us different. You consistently down player victories and desperately try to make our failures that of a victory. Quite frankly I think it's pathetic and an absolute waste of time which is why I don't participate anyway. I need not be bothered with social stereotyping or the constant need to be better or just like everybody else. Now if you wouldn't mind I was pretending to pay attention, and I'd like to go back to that now feel free to proceed with your lesson.”
There I go again being the center of attention. Not that anyone could comprehend my extensive examination of middle class teen culture. Though that wasn't so much for the students as it was to get the teacher off my back and he looked pretty agitated so mission accomplished.
Now I can go back to spacing out and not paying any attention to something that is never going to apply to my life anyway. School in a nutshell, all the more reason to get your morning coffee. Otherwise the average high school school day is almost completely insufferable. This message is brought to you by ‘outlandish internal monologuing via AARON PHOENIX'S complex, degenerate, sarcastic mind… with just a hint of a god complex.’ I know it's rather aplealing.
