Johnny took in the world around him sitting by the sea.
He let his hair be lifted by the waves, remembering why he considered this beach his second home.
He turned on the radio and heard nostalgic music.
She was old, but their connection was stronger than ever, he could almost sense her coming, her footsteps getting louder as she approached.
Her sweet voice cut the silence. “Ah, how much I missed this,” She sighed, giving Johnny time to reflect.
He racked his mind, but then noticed her expression of concern. The blood drained from his face, but he feigned a voice of confidence. “My life was very dangerous, wasn’t it? It was too fast for you, and now here we are, both at the seaside,” He rambled.
They were approaching, harsh footsteps breaking the calm of the beach. The policemen approached Johnny, and he raised is arms in the air in response, making no attempt to run.
