Dionaean Grappler.
A B-rank mana plant species with the characteristics of a parasitic dodder that hangs on thriving mana-prevalent areas and the carnivorous features of a venus flytrap.
Its formidable ability is comparable to a Red Widow's strangling method and mana leeching method.
The reason why Twisted Trapper scattered Crystal Abalone shells on his hair was because his long dreadlocked hair hides the snake-like venus flytraps which can make him the spitting image of Medusa's male counterpart.
The Dionaean Grappler also has a potential for anthropomorphism, an evolutionary phase of any mana plant monster with the ability to have human-like features, and can easily clinch the spot of an A-ranker.
Twisted Trapper's aim was to evolve his own familiar but he couldn't do so openly because his familiar might be targeted by sleazy Covetors.
Although he himself can take on the ordeal of sparring with the Dionaean Grappler, the bond between a master and familiar is too sensitive that they couldn't escape the feeling sharing each other's thoughts or pain.
During their first duel, it was only right that Alist should evolve his infant Dionaean Grappler because of their clashing Specialisms and promising matches.
Her fighting matches with the Dionaean Grappler was set in the Uptaker sport.
Uptaking is a Mana Covetors' sport where contenders have a spar similar to the conservative or orthodox fights but with the loser reluctantly agreeing to drain a portion of his gambled mana as the Mana Fodder to compensate his loss to the victor who was deemed the ultimate Mana Covetor.
Alist spent her four years fighting against Twisted Trapper's pet and he was also the one who encouraged Alist to join the Covetor Sea Game which she told Xenia later on.
She had a fair Covetor-Fodder record due to her abilities being honed by the Dionaean Grappler and one-on-one matches with Twisted Trapper himself.
As time flew by, the Dionaean Grappler grew to maturity at a faster rate which astounded Alist.
The Dionaean Grappler was already capable of camouflaging itself in Trapper's dreadlocks and has a numerous number of snake-like burgeons.
It can also wrap around its owner with its tendrils and weave itself into a Plant Armor, a makeshift exoskeleton that will gear up the Covetor in his fights and allow the user to be in control of the Dionaean Grappler's abilities.
In Twisted Trapper's current situation, he puts three things at risk: the risk offending a highborn, the risk of exposing his rare familiar, and the risk of endangering his own wife.
With these involved, Alist gritted her teeth knowing that her sparring mentor/buddy will suffer a lot of deep shit.
To make things worse, commoners don't have a say in this accusation as he is surrounded by deceitful highborns.
She tried maintaining her composure but she couldn't help but see the faces of her abusive guardians from her old life in the faces of the unfair nobles.
That's when the bloodlust arose.
Knowing the arterial points in the human body, Alist can stealthily use her Blood Beckon skill to puncture the stomach or heart of her targets.
With her head bowed down and her hair covering her eyes, she aggravatingly manipulated her dangerous skill towards the immoral nobles including Icy who she hated for being a green tea bitch.
Just as she was about to detonate the vulnerable organ with Gore Burst, she was startled by a liberator's voice.
"No!" Shandley screamed. "Trapper didn't do anything. Icy is lying. I have proof!"
Alist and Twisted Trapper shuddered at the fact that a naive minor was involved in the mess.
Alist quickly withdrew her skill upon realizing her mistake.
She then noticed her blue eyes changed into the color of blood.
Having discovered a secret, she was relieved that no one saw her eyes change color because her head was bowed.
Though it was risk on her friend's part, Alist could only pray that Shandley would turn the tables in the situation.
Shandley took out a palm-sized wooden box and opened it.
Out came Twisted Trapper's and Icy's voices that were arguing each other.
Icy's blackmail was also heard from the box which made all the chivalrous men around her look pathetic and disgraced.
It was an amazing yet untold skill for a Sound Specialist to record and trap the voices into a box.
Since there were cellphones or mini voice recorders, Alist taught Shandley of a better way to document their songs.
Alist introduced a new ability based on her power-listing knowledge called the Sound Track (A/N: LOL!) wherein a Sound Specialist can focus within a particular area of her Sound Zone and trap their uttered voices or sounds into a mana-powered box.
The wooden box was adorned with Crystal Abalone fragments so it was easy to store in the contained voices.
Shandley uses Sound Track to record Alist's singing most of the time especially when her friend projected different voices of her so-called 'monsters'.
She also uses the profound ability to record her own voice to see whether her vocals are out of tune as singers do.
With this spectacle, Alist never thought Shandley would willingly expose herself to the dangerous eyes of the crowd.
Hearing the evidence, the lecher Hanks approached her friend which was much to Alist's disgust as she quickly planned for the trio's escape route.
"Oh my!" Sir Hanks exclaimed. "To think that I have never noticed another Sound Specialist in my years as arbiter. You're also very young as well as being a genius. Be my apprentice, girl and to think that you have a magnificent aura that draws me to you—"
Before Hanks navigationally could grasp Shandley's wrist, a black hooded figure kicked the lecher to the ground.
The hooded figure named Era Duress walked towards the struck arbiter and whispered in his ear, "Hanks, I may not be from this continent but I can torture you and strip you off from your Burgher title. Don't mess with this girl."
Hanks may not know who the boy was but he could tell that his title is higher than anyone in the Covetor circle.
Before the defeated lecher could beg for forgiveness, Era sucked out Hanks' mana with his silver ring.
There are two types of mana items: the Mana Augmenters and the Mana Drainers.
Obviously, the function of the Mana Drainers was simply to leech off a Fodder's remaining mana without the victim's consent and the drained mana can then be transferred to the owner of the Mana Drainer.
Having been replenished with the stolen mana, Era Duress/Auster used Air Detraction to suffocate and slower the potential hindrances.
He summoned a humongous tropical cyclone which will travel on the sea waters and is enough to carry Shandley and her friend along with him.
As Shandley and Alist were about to be swept away into Era's twister, Alist shouted for her mentor as she stretched out her hand. "Trapper!"
Having forgotten his squabble with Icy, Trapper manipulated his hair-disguised vine and grabbed onto her.
To compensate for bringing another passenger, Alist aided their escape with a large tidal wave and maneuvered the twister transport away from the Abalone Floating Port.
