After the last bell rang Alfred met up with Patrick and the others outside the school. 

“You ready to go Al?” Patrick asked as Alfred approached him. 

“Yeah, let's head out before we’re late,” Alfred said as they began to walk down the street. 

His mind drifted as he began to think of Rigby and what the others had told him earlier. Why hadn’t Rigby told him he was gay? He was probably nervous about how he would react or waiting for the right time to tell him. They walked for a while until they arrived at a shiny new building near the outskirts of town. It had been built recently, some sort of company building. 

“Now remember you’re just meeting with the second in command, you won’t have to meet with the boss at all unless you get yourself into trouble,” Patrick explained as they walked into the building. 

Alfred had expected there to be more people running around a mafia base, but then again this was just a branch of the actual mafia headquarters. Besides, their town isn't big so he guessed it made sense that there wouldn’t be many people there. Alfred followed behind Patrick and the others as they led him through the base. He knew that working in a mafia meant some messed-up work, it wasn’t what he wanted but it was his only choice. Andra had got accepted into Yale, her dream school. He knew she wouldn’t get a cent from their parents and she’d have to raise her tuition money by herself. The school was more expensive than what she could afford. He knew he could just get a normal job but he wouldn’t be able to get the money in time. But with the mafia, he would be able to get the money quickly. Besides if it meant joining the mafia to give Andra a good life then it was worth it. She deserved the chance to be the exceptional person he knew she was. Patrick and the others led Alfred to what looked like a small gym, where a man was patiently waiting for them. 

“Hello, you must be Alfred. I’m Lorence Stone, second in command of the Andor Mafia. I’ve been told you’re interested in making some quick cash and a lot of it.” The man said as they approached him. He looked like someone you would see walking down the street heading to work in the early hours of the morning, he looked normal. If Alfred had met him in a different situation he would have never expected him to be in a mafia. 

“That's correct sir.” Alfred said as he shook Lorence’s hand. 

“Gotta nice grip their son.” Lorence smiled as he let go of Alfred's hand. 

“So what exactly is it that you can do for us?” Lorence asked as he dismissed Earl and Randy, so it was just the three of them. 

“Well sir I’ve got a pretty good arm and swing from baseball, I already know basic defense and how to shoot a gun, and I’m a pretty skilled driver.” Alfred explained as Lorence nodded his head. 

“Well let's test that then.” Lorence said calmly as Alfred heard Patrick start to move behind him. He quickly spun around just in time to grab Patrick's arm and use his momentum to flip him onto his back. 

“Hmmm.” Lorance hummed in approval as he stared at Alfred as if he were studying how he moved and looked. It was kinda creepy how Lorence stared at him almost sexually. Patrick groaned and rolled onto his side, he hoped he hadn't broken one of his ribs. 

“Let’s see that throw of yours.” Lorence said as he tossed a medium-sized rock at Alfred which he quickly caught. Alfred launched the rock across the room and it landed dead center on a target across the room. Lorence just nodded his head as he tossed Alfred a set of keys. 

“Let's finish this test.” Lorence said as they left Patrick still curled up in pain on the floor. Lorence led Alfred outside and over to a sleek red car. 

“You'll be timed. Once around the block, not a scratch on the car, and if anyone alerts the police you're on your own, son.” Lorence said as he gestured towards the car. 

Alfred settled himself as he climbed into the car, it was brand new and a pretty decent model. He had to do this, he couldn’t fail. This was for Anda. He took one last calming breath as he started up the car and looked over at Lorence. Lorence looked at his watch for a moment before he nodded his head signaling Alfred to go. Alfred stomped on the gas and sped off down the street. He quickly made a sharp right turn just barely avoiding the curb. He only had one chance at this, he couldn’t mess up now. He weaved through the cars parked along the streets as he kept his foot firmly on the accelerator.  Alfred felt the panic begin to rise in his chest as a kid walked out into the street, he quickly yanked the wheel to the side as the car spun in a circle and just barely missed the kid. He just barely held back the urge to throw up as he straightened the car out and blasted down the next street. Alfred quickly jerked the wheel to the right and drifted on the street as he just barely made the turn and his wheel hit the curb and he almost went over it. He was lucky he had such good control of the wheel right now somehow.  He made one last sharp turn and slammed on the brakes almost launching himself through the windshield as he stopped exactly where he had started. 

“Impressive. 52 seconds a new record.” Lorence said a proud smile on his face still looking at his watch as Alfred’s heart still reached full of adrenaline. 

“You're in. I’ll call you when we need you. Also here's a little something for a job well done.” Lorence smirked as he tossed Alfred a phone and a small roll of cash. 

“Thank you, sir,” Alfred said somehow steady as Lorence nodded his head. 

“Keep the car son, you earned it. Think of it as a special present from me.” Lorence said as he winked at him and walked off leaving Alfred in stunned silence.

Alfred walked into his room and quickly closed the door. He had left the car Lorence gave him in the garage, his parents never went in there so it gave him some time to figure out what to do with it. Lorence made him uncomfortable, but that was part of the job, you're not supposed to be comfortable when talking to someone from a mafia. He tossed his bag onto his bed as something fell out of it and onto the floor. He walked over and picked it up off the floor as he put the keys to the car he got on his dresser, it was the book Rigby had given him earlier. Alfred put his other stuff away and sat down on his bed with the book. Now was as good a time as ever to start reading it. Alfred skimmed through a couple of chapters of the book to get a gist of what he was in for. He froze and stopped on a page, he felt his face grow red as he read the vivid description of the two main characters kissing. He read it a few more times as he felt his heart start racing again. He had never felt this way before, but yet somehow there was something about two guys kissing each other that made him feel this way. He had to admit he didn't hate it somehow. 

“Whatcha doing?” Andra asked as she leaned in the doorway to his room. Alfred jumped as he threw the book across the room. He knew his face was bright red for sure now. 

“Uhh… nothin... Just hanging out. What are you doing?” Alfred asked, trying to play the situation off as Andra’s gaze was staring right through his act. 

“What's this?” Andra chuckled as she ignored his diversion and picked up the book still open to what he was reading. 

“IT’S NOTHING!” Alfred shouted as he stood up from his bed. 

“Huh, didn’t think you’d be one too get so worked up over a boy love,” Andra smirked as he snatched the book away from her. 

“I’m not “worked up”, besides what even is a boy love?” Alfred asked as he set the book down on his desk. He shouldn’t have thrown it, but luckily it wasn't damaged. 

“Really? You seriously don’t know what a boy love is?” Andra asked as she sat down on his bed. 

“Why would I ask if I knew what it was?” Alfred huffed as Andra rolled her eyes at him playfully. 

“A boy love is a boy x boy romance, most have angst, fluff, and smut mixed into them but not all of them. Some are just regular romance stories. I’ve read that one before. It’s a good one, but if you're going to get into reading those more, stay away from the omegaverse stuff, for now, it can get pretty rough sometimes.” Andra said as Alfred felt his cheeks turn red again. He had no idea half of the stuff she was talking about but he was more embarrassed that she had caught him. 

“Don’t worry I’m not going to tell mom and dad. I would never do that to you. I’ll love you no matter what, even if you're gay.” Andra said as Alfred relaxed a little. 

“I’m not gay,” Alfred mumbled as Andra just nodded her head. 

“And that's your choice and I respect it. I'm just saying there’s nothing wrong with being gay, no matter what anyone says. As long as you love the other person back it doesn't matter.” Andra said as Alfred sat down on the bed next to her. 

“I’ll admit it, I’m a lesbian, and honestly there's nothing wrong with me or my sexuality.” Andra shrugged as Alfred looked at her surprised, he would have never guessed she was a lesbian. He had always seen her flirting with guys all the time. 

“I know it’s surprising. One day I realized I was spending my time going after people I wasn’t attracted to. That day was when this new girl, Valeria Cotilla, joined my class and as soon as I saw her I was struck with this almost electric connection and I just knew I needed to get to know her better and have her for myself.” Andra said as he began to wrap his head around the information she was telling him. He had never been attracted to girls before... It was just because he hadn’t met the right one yet. 

“Well no matter what your sexuality is, that doesn't change you, it just makes you more of yourself. And I love you Andra for who you are. However, I wanna meet this Valeria girl.” Alfred said as Andra shoved his shoulder. 

“We're not even dating! We're just friends for now.” Andra said, embarrassed with herself. 

“Still, she needs to know that if she hurts you in any way that I will rain hellfire upon her,” Alfred said as Andra laughed at him. 

“I’ll have you meet her soon, but for now I’ll leave you to, your boy love.” Andra chuckled as she closed his door behind her. 

Alfred looked over at the book Rigby had given him. He would read more later but for now, he had forgotten to text Rigby. The book would just have to wait until later, and maybe once he was finished reading that, Andra could recommend some other ones for him to read.
