James and I break from each other’s grasp and separate as fast as we can. We weren’t fast enough because they had their mouths wide open, looking at us in disbelief. Jane gasped and Amy began to point at us, then they turned around and began to run away.

“Astrid! Nikki!” James and I run after them. I grabbed Amy and James just missed Jane as she quickly climbed down the ladder and ran off looking for the other girls. We are so screwed. By tonight everyone is going to know about us. I let Amy go, dropping her to the floor. She hits the wood with a thud.

“Ow, what the hell!?” I shrug as if I hadn’t done anything. She angrily grunts and makes her way down the ladder. Once she was gone I looked over at James to see his expression. He looked mortified. I couldn’t help but think that he was going to break up with me because our secret was out. I felt sick and walked back into my room. James followed behind me.

“We just have to deny it, okay? Don’t talk to anyone, do you understand!?” he grabbed my arm and squeezed. I was frozen with fear. All of my thoughts were racing and the same thought kept presenting itself. Is he going to hit me? I was so scared that I began to cry. As soon as I started he realized his mistake and let me go. I kneel on the floor, sitting on my feet, and bury my face into my hands as I cry. He grones in annoyance as he gets down on one knee and pats my head. “I’m sorry, babe. I didn’t mean to scare you. I wasn’t going to hit you, I promise. I just didn’t want anyone to know. You’re still a fucking teenager. No one is going to be happy about this. They won’t understand.” I sniffled a little and lifted my head. I sigh as I think for a moment. He doesn’t wait for me to reply and just leaves.
