As they wait for the bus, Jax let's Space fidget with his lighter. They flick it on and off absent-mindedly, trying to distract from his growing anxiety. They hate buses. The crowded death mobile they'd call it sometimes. Suddenly the lighter is taken from their hand and replaced with a flower. It's a marigold, and orange boy more specifically. They look up and meet Axl's gentle gaze.
"I don't want you to burn yourself, ok?"
"Ok," Space mumbles. They twiddle the flower inbetween their fingers, waiting for the bus.
Finally the bus arrives. No one on the bus is talking but the smells - the amount of smells all at once - overwhelms Space. He clings to Axl's arm and squishes his cheek into Axl's side. He closes his eyes - the orange boy marigold tucked behind his ear - and tries to sleep.
this one's really short especially since i've been busy catching up on work but don't worry chapter 5 will be a lot longer though it might take more time to get it out
Three friends just trying to make it by. In high school they were constantly getting into trouble, all of them just looking for a distraction. Wether it was walking on telephone pole wires or breaking lamppost lights, they'll take any distraction over facing their problems.
Now having moved out and in together they have responsibilities and work to do. At least those are distractions.
But when old troubles ressurface will they be able to overcome them or will they fall short trying?
