Chapter 1: Fateful Encounter
Let me tell you the story of how I lost everyone I know and love. My story begins at the age of 7. Before I was adopted by my mother, I was alone on the streets. My real family saw me as a curse because my skin was not like their pale white skin. My parents began to fight day in and day out because my father knew I was not his child. Mother always blamed me for this and took all her anger out on me. I had two brothers, one older, and the other younger. My brothers always told me I looked like a burnt piece of chicken, because my skin was darker than theirs and I had way more meat on my bones then any of the girls they knew. My mother always complained about how much of a hassle it was to do my hair because of how thick and curly it is. Because of how different I was from my family they left me out to rot in the streets on my seventh birthday. I stole and slept around to survive.
For the next 5 years of my life I was out on the streets trying to live. I got beat, raped, and used until I met this tall black old man. He looked just like me, he had an Afro on his head and burnt like skin. But what confuses me is the fact that he was dressed as a lady. He had makeup on and looked like a goddess born of a man's body.
~He looks well off, this is my chance to get out of this hell hole.~
I stand up and proceed to walk toward him. Purposefully, I bump into him.
“I’m sorry sir.” I say
“Who are you calling sir?!” He shouts, “Do I look like a man to you? Mind your manners young lady.”
“My apologies ma’am, but I best be on my way. Goodbye.”
~As confused as I am, I just don’t want to be caught. I need to get out before she figures me out.~
I try and walk away while being as not suspicious as humanly possible, but it’s too late.
“HEY! WAIT!! THAT LITTLE BRAT STOLE MY WALLET!”
~Sh*t! I’ve been found out!~
I start running as fast as I can as she chases me down the long crowded road.
I stop by a river and try to catch my breath as I think to myself,
~Man that was lousy of me. I could’ve done better, how did I get caught so fast. I even left a prop just in case. Oh well, I think I’ve ran far enough.
I take a deep breath and stare at the big red full moon, in the dark, blank sky. But that peace lasted only a second before I was pounced from behind, and fell onto the ground with a face full of dirt.
“I finally found you, you sneaky little brat! Now give me my wallet right now or else!”
