Azu was packing his things when the alarm went off for the second time. He hurriedly reached for it to turn it off so that Akira could sleep in peace for another hour. And then, he thought, they would leave this place, together.
His room had started to seem a bit too suffocating to him. It was funny how for the past few days, he had been trying his best not to step out of Izuki's house and now, he was eager to get out of it.
The magic inside him was equally excited. A bird was singing far away in the wilderness and its sound resonated so well with how Azu was feeling, that he could feel frissions all over his body.
Another rush of excitement and he folded and put his clothes away with greater enthusiasm.
Akira shifted in the bed, yawning. And then, pulling the cover over his head, he went back to sleep.
Like every lover out there, to Azu, this was one of those moments when he found his partner irresistably adorable and harmless. Forgetting for a moment about the rest of the world, he looked at him, a goofy smile adorning his face.
Akira did not wake up until half an hour later. He was confused to see Azu packing.
"Umm.. what are you doing?" he asked in a raspy voice, rubbing his eyes.
"What do you think I'm doing? I'm packing my stuff." Azu replied, quite casually.
Akira sat up with a jolt, surprise evident on his face. "Wait. Are you telling me that you're leaving this place?"
"Yeah. You don't have to look so surprised. I told you I'm gonna keep my distance from Izuki, didn't I?" Azu said matter of factly, though his hear fluttered slightly from seeing how happy Akira seemed.
"Does this mean you'll come back to stay in my house?" Akira knew what Azu's answer for this question was going to be but he still decided to give it a try.
"Don't push your luck." Azu tried to stare him down but it didn't seem to bother Akira at all. The annoying but cute alpha got out of the bed and sat next to him.
Well, next to him, on top his unwashed dirty sweatshirt.
Azu pushed Akira off, knocking him over, almost too easily.
"Stop being so dramatic." Azu giggled. "I didn't even push you that hard."
He got up clumsily, joining Azu in the laughter. Grabbing hold of Azu's shoulders, he placed a kiss on his lips.
"Thank you .. "
He then left the room smiling like an idiot to freshen up.
"Are you sure you don't want to see him before you leave?" Akira asked again.
"I want to, but then you'll have to leave before me. Izuki is not really keen on meeting you." Azu told him, remembering his friend's instruction to call him only after Akira leaves the place.
"Well, neither am I." Akira let his annoyance show. "But I don't want to leave without you."
"Guess it's decided then." Azu shrugged as he walked out of the room, carrying his bag and a backpack.
"What about the keys?"
"Oh don't worry. I know where he hides them." Azu replied as he looked at the potted cactus near the front door.
