[Inside the truck once more: the smooth path provides the passengers with a gentle ride. Ever so rarely, rocks would bump the vehicle slightly off the ground and back down from the forces of gravity. This time, the speed the truck is going faster than before. It's as if The Officer is speeding away from something, but what?]
[Moments after The Officer hastily drives the truck, Barrel makes no hesitation to check up on Carol.]
"Carol, are you doing alright?" Barrel asked gently. "I can't really see you in here to observe with my eyes."
Jason interrupts just before Carol responds, "You sick F***! Why are you checking up on a young girl with your eyes, hm? You're like 23? 24 years of age and you decide to lay your eyes on a minor?? You devious bastard."
"32.." Barrel's tone increases slightly. "And I am no Deviant! To so much as to call someone who followed the demanding ways of living within this forsaken country-... It hurts... That hurts..." He lowers his attitude to where it was before.
"I'll make changes to what I have said. I'm not really that experienced in conversing with other people..." Barrel's tone softens even more. "If what I said sounded inappropriate, I can guarantee you that I had no misconducting intentions... I was just worried for Carol. She's young, you know? What just happened back there, she should not have gone through that, but yet death decided to look over her instead of me."
[Barrel takes a moment of silence to let his words ring out of the truck. Jason and Carol continue to listen.]
"I don't know where you came from, but from where I lived, life is stagnant... and miserable. I easily see the innocent disappear from society. Suspicion from the "Common Public" would cause one to have their life cut short. I see the young fade away as soon as they walked out the doors to life. You have no idea how bad life is now. Maybe you do, but you probably refuse to acknowledge that. I don't know."
"I know I am not proficient in socialization. I know that the world I lived in changed my fundamental lifestyle. I just want to see life flourish for once, but the youth keeps dying to let that happen. I see people disappear; somehow, the common people view that as a positive outlook or don't truly care. We are all the same and are to be the same for the sake of staying alive."
Jason reacts to Barrel, "Oh, how traumatic. I do feel so bad for what you had to witness. Please, if there is anything that I can do to help, do tell me."
[Barrel scoffs, then grunts at Jason after his response.]
[The truck remains silent again.]
Carol softly speaks to Barrel, "I'm doing well. Thank you for I appreciate your concern towards my well-being." She smiles at him knowing enough that he can't see it. "Really, I am grateful."
[As soon as Jason turns his head to Carol, the glow within his eyes fades away, causing his vision to lose sight.]
"God damn it..! Someone threaten me." Jason tries to remember what he saw on the right side of the truck. Facing away from the drivers. "The kid is still here yes?"
Barrel answers Jason, "Yea... He's in front of me. He's probably sleeping, though."
Jason spits downwards between his feet, "What an unnerving cretin. I wonder how far he'll go with that personality of his."
"There is always a cause to his behavior. We don't his story that leads to what brought him what he is now." Carol says openly.
Jason, despite being in the dark, smirks at Carol, "How cheeky."
Set your eyes onto the world that is in 2050. Much of society has changed significantly. Demanding requests that are easily heard and given. It's what all people would usually want within their country, place, or wherever they live. You want people to be the same? Worry not for everyone is the same. Do you wish any societal deviants eradicated? Deviants are no longer a situation. Look no further to learn from one or see a single trace. Become like the Common Public; they are the example to modern life.
What about the government? Don't talk about it. Know that all demands, prayers, and requests become answered and acted upon by the works of the government. Besides, conversations about the government always end with undesirable hate. Live happily. You want any change to stop; it will cease. Do you wish for a much better living condition? Of course, anything for a citizen that abides with the Common Public. Please be sure to be prepared for any intervention in your life.
