Luna Messis is a horrible blusher.
The red would start at the bridge of her nose and wash in like the tide, up from the tips of her ears to down to her fingers. She hated blushing. Which is why she's not normally the kind to express embarrassing opinions or read one of her favourite mystery books in public or-

She squeaks at the memory and looks down away from the curious gaze of her senior staff and sees that even her arms are pink now.
Perhaps her great grandmother was part flamingo after all.
It could be possible, humans and Beast-Walkers have lived side by side since the dawn of time. It was not always good and in the times it was bad it was horribly so on both sides but...
[ "Being by you makes my heart soar." ]
...people are people, no matter if they’re graced with the gift of the wilds or not. Love tends to push through those things even through hatred and pain.
It happened with her mother. It’s why at twenty-one she lives in Maple Lakes doing university long-distance instead of Via Fulmine where the human population is much higher. Her parents -both human- got divorced when she was at the end of high school and after that she and her mother moved to the countryside town to get away from all of the drama associated with a father she barely spoke to.
There, after a year of recovery and pharmacy work, her mother met the bear-folk Norix and the rest was history.
Luna thinks of the roaring laughter she hears at the house now and feels a little warmer.
“Don’t go all quiet on us!”
Cookie’s shouting cuts into her little reverie and reminds her why she was blushing in the first place.
“You can’t just not say anything else after saying something like ‘I think I got a love letter,’ and turn bright pink!” snorts the boar-folk, her nose twitching. “You’re still pink, Lulu! It’s adorable as-OW! That was my head Marishka!”
Marishka’s wings fold back behind her.
“Leave her be,” says the older woman in her usual noble nasal drawl. The feathers she swept back elegantly into an updo wobble from side to side as she lets out a little honk of frustration. “Luna can tell us if she wants to. Just because you’re a gossip doesn’t mean she has to tell us anything. Besides…I’m sure whoever sent it has something in mind for when they tell her properly. ”
There’s a tone there that Luna can’t help but notice.
“Marishka?” she asks quietly. “D-do you perhaps...know who sent it?”
A smile stretched slyly across the goose’s face.
“Perhaps…”
“What’s with all the shouting?”
The voice comes from behind her Luna squeaks, jumping in her stool in surprise. She turns to find Abel the cat-folk leaning in to the office window from outside and by him is-
Oh.
Caelus looks more red than usual. His normally perky ears are back a little and he seems to be a little sweaty too. Did he just come back from his postal run? He looks a little guilty. Did he accidentally knock over the post box by Dian’s Grocer, again? Did he get injured crossing over Kiera’s parents backyard as a shortcut? Does she need to get the first aid kit?
He finally raises his eyes to meet hers and he looks so awkward and unsure she can’t help but smile at him. Then the wolf brightens so much that it’s kind of blinding. She can see his tail wagging and she wants to giggle. His expressions always makes her laugh. They always seem to take up the whole of him.
He was such a friendly person to everyone it’s no wonder he was so popular with the customers.
“GUYS!” Cookie shouts over to them. “Luna got a -OW- Marishka!”
She feels the blush creep up her arms again and she turns from the group and wills her heart to slow and the pink to go away.
“Luna.”
It's Caelus calling, and it's a little more serious than usual so she turns to him. He’s looking up at her with those gleaming golden suns for eyes and they’re a little worried.
“A-are you ok?”
She pauses. She’s still blushing but she isn't as embarassed anymore. Caelus always has a way of making her feel like everything was going to be ok whenever he was around.
“I think...I’m really happy today,” she says at last and she watches the expression on his handsome face soften and the smile show fangs.
[ “I want to be by your side and make you as happy as you make me.” ]
[ “Will you let me?” ]
“I’m glad to hear that,” he says with a soft smile that makes her heart flutter just a little.
There’s a gasp from Cookie.
“OH!" she exclaims like she's solved a mystery.
"Was the love letter from Caelus?”
