She adjusted her position on the tree, with her legs pressed against her nearly flat chest, and heard the soft vibrations of Grandmother Itea. She was humming a lullaby that brought calm to every God, Demon, and Monster that resided within the forest for she was life itself and had the power to do so. But her power was limited and she knew the humming would come to an end soon. She pressed her hand against the trunk and smiled, feeling the small critters crawl over her hand. Deeply she inhaled, breathing in the crisp air as she took her hand off the trunk and shook the critters off. Although she would’ve loved for there to be peace, the Red Bloods always ruin everything.
A horrific smell of Tainted Red Bloods would enter the forest causing Grandmother Itea to stop humming and allowing the situation to sink in. Tainted Red Bloods were not allowed in the Forest for it was forbidden by both the Gods and the Red Bloods organizations that set the rules and regulations out. But somehow, Tainted Red Bloods always crossed over that line for their thirst to save themselves was greater than the punishment. She could practically hear the Sun laugh as she stood upon the arm and walked out of the shaded area to examine the forest. From the distance, birds flew from their homes and into the safety of the air and she frowned, feeling her blood boil into her face.
The Tainted Red Bloods were on the hunt to search for a pack of Lynkas or Giant Wolves as they call them for their blood helped ease the pain of being cursed.
“I hate that they’re in my forest.” she seethed, tying her hair up into a bun with the help of stems of the flowers.
“Are you going Matchi? They will be looking for you.” Grandmother Itea’s old voice croaked, “They know who you are after the last encounter with them.”
She blinked, remembering that it was some time ago she fought some of the Tainted Red Bloods. A group of five came into the forest, looking for one of the Lynkas Tribes until she intervened. They didn't expect to find one of their kind living amongst the forbidden woods, speaking the language of Old and attempting to kill them. Unfortunately, through her slaughter of the Red Bloods, one escaped with the help of a mage enchanted ring. The Red Bloods tales spread outside the walls and the Crows told her that everyone knows about her.
“Don't worry Grandmother, I will be fine. They are getting closer to the Western Tribe and they just had cubs. I don't want another Lynkas killed by those weapons.”
“He will be upset.”
She smirked, “It’s okay, he needs to know that I want to protect my home as much as any other creature here. But everyone knows I am one of the few that can kill them.” She kissed her hand and pressed it against her chest. She took a few more steps towards the end of the branch and inhaled.
“Zepher, hear my pleas, take me to my enemies so that I may protect our home.” she closed her eyes and jumped.
