Bes and Caw rolled their eyes as they watched their friends run out onto the school field to play.

“You got it?” Caw asked his twin.

“Was there any doubt?” Bes replied, a smirk growing over his face. “Like Ellery would let me leave the house without it.”

Their older brother was the only one who knew about the mischief the twins had plotted. He often helped supply things for their plots.

It was a ball, similar to the one the others their age were playing with but for one difference. Instead of air, it was full of cement.

“Good. No one gets to talk bad about Bliss.” Caw said, a matching smirk emerging on his own face.

The two weren’t often up to mischief – unless someone deserved it of course. No one ever got away with doing anything against their family.

They waited until the ball was kicked in their direction, quickly switching it out with the cement filled one.

They laughed as they walked back inside, confident no one would find them to be the cause of the problem – no one ever had before.

They had made it into the library before the ground began to shake like it had that morning.
