A long time ago, ten years before the change was brought to the earth, a girl was born.
She had the same bright eyes and dark hair as her parents and they were joyous to have a child.
They named her Alvar, delighting in this guardian of their hearts.
When she was five, the girl and her parents journeyed into Elswyth Woods.
The parents emerged five days later injured and frantic. Something dangerous was in the woods and it took their daughter.
For five years, the people of Elswyth tried searching for the girl but nothing was ever found.
As for her parents, they didn’t stay in Elswyth much longer, wanting as far away from the woods as possible.
But the girl was still there, hidden in Elswyth Woods.
The monster her parents had fled from was an injured bear, chasing them away from his cave.
The girl was left behind in their panic.
A curious child, Alvar did not stay at the campsite. Instead, she travelled deeper into the woods, further than any had ever made it before.
And on that faithful night, where the world was blind to the green moon, a child watched. She sat upon a rock, eyes wide as the sky filled with the matching colour.
Frieda was only five years old when the change happened. Once a normal world, very similar to our own, now full of magick. Her home, the town of Elswyth, has gone through many changes. She wouldn't have it any other way.
Alvar was ten when the change happened - and she hasn't aged since. Once the lost child in Elswyth Woods, now the guardian of Aiyanna of Four. She will always protect what is hers.
Alvar and Frieda aren't exactly what you'd call friends, but they do know each other. So when members of the Iron Legion come intending to take over Aiyanna of Four, Frieda has no issue racing against time itself to give warning.
