Barrel turns to The Officer. His height is measured but not close to matching compared to The Officer despite being taller than the average height, "Where have you taken us?"
The Officer doesn't turn to Barrel. Instead, he continues to glue his eyes on the building, "You sound angry. That's good. Be angry. Be any emotion you can be."
"I'm not. I am only questioning. I only want an answer." Barrel begs The Officer.
The Officer repeats to Barrel, "... And why should I tell you?"
[Left unfulfilled with his demands, Barrel stares at The Officer, like a confused child with a parent who refuses to provide any explanation. Nothing left to say, Barrel's eyes return to looking at the building.]
Carol makes no hesitation, "Excuse me, Officer."
He doesn't turn to Carol, but he does answer her call, "I'm listening."
Carol's voice: soft and consistent, "Have you ever been inside that building?"
"Hmm... No. I was near the entrance and left the last time I drove there. That was the closest I got. I've never seen what was inside and I have no intention to know what is inside that awaits you four." He breathes out a sigh and crosses his arms.
Carol embarrassingly announces her issue, "I... I do need to relieve myself... Sorry if that made you uncomfortable, but I really need to go."
[The Officer uncrosses his arms and turns to Carol. He unlocks her chain with a press of a button on his wrist.]
[The feeling of being unbounded never felt better. The sound of the chain dropping to the floor signifying free will unravels relief but is only temporary.]
"You have 10 minutes." He places a chip on the side of Carol's neck. Just after contact with Carol's skin, the chip immediately latches on by injecting a needle. The sting makes her shut her eye as a response to the pain, "Be back before 8 minutes. Each beep will notify you that a minute has passed by. Don't worry about the sound because the beeps are soft to the ear. If the 10th beep occurs, you will become electrocuted. Forcefully take the chip off: you will become electrocuted. It won't kill you, but it's not going to tickle either. Trust me."
"Then why would you put this on me? Don't you trust-" Carol remembering her situation, "No, you don't. That was a stupid question, to begin with..." She sets off into the trees, away from The Officer, Barrel, and the truck.
Barrel: talking to himself in his head while still handcuffed and standing side-by-side near The Officer, "The Officer has been here before, he said. With the size of the truck we were in, it should be enough to fit at least ten people inside. Thirty if he were to cramp people together. Seventy if he were collecting dead bodies. He does not seem the type of soldier we see on the T.V. He's too... social, kind, and generous. Perhaps he's hiding some secret persona he does not want us to witness. Yet, why should I care so much about him? Probably be the last time I see him.
[Sudden beeps and vibrations are heard on The Officer's wrist. With each passing second, it gets faster and faster. Yet, the Officer doesn't do anything about it. Instead, he remains still and prepares himself for what is coming.]
With an unappealing tone, he reacts to the incoming signal, "Tsk. How terrific."
[In the distance, a light looms behind the truck as it gets brighter and brighter when it approaches ever so closely.]
