Sheeva charged, stabbing the rapier forward, Seraphim barely managing to dodge as he felt a sting on his cheek. Seraphim jumped back a bit calling for his sword as he felt the cut on his cheek begin to burn. "That sword has fire properties, I'll need to be careful not to get cut again," Seraphim thought to himself as he blocked her strikes. Her attacks were hitting fast and hard, Seraphim slowly losing ground and unable to fight back. Cuts started popping up along his arms where the rapier hit, Eira began to worry from the sidelines. He swung his sword causing Sheeva to jump back, still in a readied position. Seraphim tried to catch his breath, his cuts burning as he tried to ready himself against Sheeva, his arms shaking as he prepared.
"Get ready I'm gonna finish this with my next strike," Sheeva warned Seraphim, a small ball of energy appearing at the end of her rapier. "So her nickname comes from being able to summon that small sun, I need to avoid it at all costs," Seraphim said as the blade of his sword began to fill with energy and glow red. Sheeva trusted her rapier through the small sun shooting it at Seraphim, who blocked it with the flat part of his sword. The force of the attack pushed Seraphim back as he shouted against the heat from the small sun. "Come on Seraphim," Eira muttered as Seraphims friends watched. With a loud cry, Seraphim swung his sword up and knocked the small sun into the air away from him.
Sheeva smiled at him as she said "I knew it, only someone with a fire attribute could handle that level of an attack;" she readied herself again "but I plan to win." She thrust forward, missing Seraphim who dodged to the side, swung his blade up and knocked Sheeva's sword into the air. He grabbed her by the collar and threw her towards the edge of the arena. The two began to fight without their swords, Seraphim dropping his to try and tackle her. She jumped up and kicked him in the chest before he could, Seraphim falling onto his back. Sheeva started punching down at Seraphim who tried his best to block her. "I gotta get back on the offensive and stop being on the defense." He thought to himself grabbing Sheeva by the wrists and throwing her away.
The two stared at each other as Sheeva grabbed her rapier from nearby, Seraphim picking it up along with her. "I got enough for one more attack, so I'm gonna go all out!" Seraphim shouted, moving his sword to rest on his back, the blade beginning to glow again. Sheeva let out a laugh and created another mini sun at the end of her rapier. "Solar crusher! Monster cutter!" The two shouted Seraphim throwing his sword spinning through the air and Sheeva's sun flying towards Seraphim. The two attacks clashed together against each other sparks flying everywhere. Seraphim ran around the attack taking a swing at Sheeva who barely dodged, cutting Seraphims shoulder as she did.
As the two began to try to hit the other, Seraphims sword flew off into the sky, Sheeva's mini sun vanishing from the collision. Sheeva pointed the tip of her rapier at Seraphim, the two near the edge of the arena, as she said "You might as well drop out now there's no way you can win." That's when everything went dark for Sheeva. When she awoke Seraphim knelt next to her shaking her awake, "What happened?" She asked as Seraphim started explaining. When she told him to drop out his sword had rebounded off the wall and hit her in the back of the head. When hearing this, Sheeva's face filled with disappointment. "I tried so hard to win and yet I lost," she said, sighing. She wished him good luck and walked away Seraphim rubbing the back of his neck. He knew his win was due to luck and he didn't like winning that way but was glad to have moved on.
Seraphim started heading to the corridor when the man with the talisman walked past him. From what Seraphim knew this man would be his next opponent, and Seraphim could tell he was powerful. He watched the man run to Sheeva's side and check on her, finally turning and walking away. Eira checked on Seraphim when he walked up while Hayden and Cyrus congratulated him. "Thank you for your time today and we hope you will all come back tomorrow for rounds two and three for our remaining ten students to go head to head with each other!" The announcer called as everyone began to leave the arena excited for the next set of matches.
The tournament came to a close as the final match ended, Seraphim and his friends decided to go their separate ways with Seraphim heading back to the hotel that his school was staying at. Seraphim lay on the bed in his hotel room and stared at the ceiling. For the tournament, the students from the schools stayed in a high-class hotel to rest and relax. While the tournament goes on, a festival goes on alongside it to celebrate the senior students graduating soon. Seraphim wasn't in the mood to go to the festival and preferred to stay in his room in the meantime. Eira, Hayden, and Cyrus were willing to stay with Seraphim but he assured them he was just wanting to rest so they agreed and left. "Well, I can't just lay here forever so I better walk around the hotel," Seraphim thought to himself and began to explore.
As Seraphim explored the hotel, he saw an open bath area. "I've only seen these in manga and anime, I should take the chance to use this," Seraphim said out loud running back and getting a change of clothes. When he got back he stripped wrapping a towel around his waist and rinsed himself off finally sitting down in the water. He let out a loud sigh as he relaxed until he heard footsteps behind him. He turned and saw the man with a talisman from the opening ceremony walk in. The man gave a short hello when he saw Seraphim, rinsing himself off and taking a seat next to him. "Been here long?" The man asked Seraphim who shook his head explaining that he had just gotten there. "Oh well then allow me to introduce myself, I'm Musashi," the man said, introducing himself and shaking Seraphims hand.
The two sat enjoying the water, and Seraphim knew Musashi was sizing him up. The tension between the two was very thick in the air. "So how did you get that scar on your chest?" Musashi asked Seraphim and pointed at the large scar that went down his chest, Musashi trying to lighten the mood. Seraphim looked at the scar and rubbed his fingers over it, saying, "I'm not sure, truthfully I don't remember how I got it all I remember is waking up one day, and there it was. What about your scars?" Musashi explained that his scars were from training, in his clan he was known as a jiangshi, with his job being to protect someone he's assigned to. His job is to protect Sheeva, who Seraphim beat in the first round.
"You may have won by luck but that won't work against any opponent expecting it, so be prepared and good luck in your next match," Musashi said standing up with Seraphim. Seraphim nodded and shook Musashi's hand, however, when the two turned they saw Eira and Sheeva peeking into the bath and looking at them. When Eira and Sheeva saw the two staring at them, they turned and bolted. Seraphim heard them run down the hall, Musashi giving Seraphim a small nod and getting dressed, chasing the two.
Seraphim got dressed and walked out, and what he saw surprised him. Sheeva and Eira were stuck in the wall, the only thing poking out were their heads. Musashi stood nearby watching them, as Seraphim began to laugh. "Man, that's funny, how'd you get them in there?" Seraphim asked to which Musashi replied that he had done this to Sheeva several times before. Seraphim pulled Eira out of the wall and wished Musashi and Sheeva a good night as he carried Eira to her room. After laying her in bed he went back to his room and laid down looking up at the ceiling. Seraphim knew that his match with Musashi would be the toughest he would face for sure and he needed his rest for tomorrow.
