Caden walked to the kitchen to set the cake down. As he put the cake on the kitchen island, he took in the scene.
Wayne and Zie were talking as Caden noticed that Wayne was drinking straight from the bottle. Zie looked like he did not mind as their conversation continued without problems.
Then he turned towards his sister, taking the bottles out of the box, setting them on the counter. Lia walked towards her.
Caden would leave, but he stayed a bit longer to make sure everything would go smoothly for Yaya.
"Hey, you must be Caden's friend?" Lia greeted.
Yaya looked the woman up and down before smiling, "I am, and what is your name, beautiful?"
There was a slight blush on Lia's face as she answered, "Lia. And thank you, you are gorgeous yourself."
"I know."
Caden wanted to hit his sister for not saying thank you, but he will allow her to have this. Back then, his sister thought she was ugly and would never pass as a female because of how tall she had grown.
He remembered the days of her crying when she saw how tall she was becoming. She would slouch to make herself shorter because she believed her height would ruin everything for her.
Caden could not stand seeing his sister cry and didn't want her to end up with bad posture. So, he bought her a bunch of magazines with tall females on/in them.
Once his sister saw them and started reading them, her confidence came back again.
Lia looked like she did not mind it as she continued talking with Yaya.
Caden did a slight nod, satisfied that his sister was fine. He walked out, making his way back to Dean.
Dean was still leaning on the door, looking nervous as his hands continued to play with the doorknob. He did not look up when Caden walked back in.
Caden stopped in front of him, grabbing his hand to get his attention. Dean looked at him, biting his bottom lip out of nervousness.
"Dean," Caden started.
Dean opened his mouth, getting ready to say something, but Caden shook his head. Dean closed his mouth, showing how anxious he was once again.
"I fell for you when you closed down a park for a day to give me a picnic. And I can say that I am in love with you, but it is too early for both of us to say it since we just got together. I am not mad at you, and you did nothing wrong. We should take our time before saying those words to each other. "
Dean's body relaxes as he squeezed Caden's hand before resting his forehead on his.
Caden let them stay like that for a second longer before moving his hand back and grabbing the man's collar as he pulled him down. His eyes looked sharp.
"And another thing, do not ignore me again. Your text was fine. People can tell others what they love about them without it coming off as I love you. Even if we did have a problem, we will talk about it and not ignore it.
"You understand me?"
Dean rapidly shook his head, getting turned on a bit. "I understand."
Caden smiled, kissing Dean's lips before letting him go. "Good, now let's return to the party."
Turning around to leave, Caden felt a hand stop him. He looked at Dean, who kissed him. He grabbed the back of the man's head, bringing him down as he deepened Dean's kiss.
His tongue entered the man's mouth as he started to explore it before sucking on his tongue. Dean gripped his shirt, moaning from the kiss as he pulled the man closer.
They were still kissing when Yaya walked into the room. She rolled her eyes at them making out before saying, "Can you two finish kissing and come join the party?"
Caden and Dean moved away from each other, wiping the saliva that dropped on their chin off. They turned towards Yaya as Dean looked embarrassed while Caden glared at his sister for interrupting.
Yaya, seeing the glare, smirked. She walked over, grabbing Dean as she pulled him to the kitchen. "You still have time to take him to your bed, Caden." She commented over her shoulder.
Dean blushed at her words while Caden rolled his eyes at his sister before following them.
It was getting closer to midnight as Dean and Yaya stood in front of the darts. They were playing a game against each other as they spoke.
"You have good aim, rich boy," Yaya commented when she saw Dean's dart hitting in the middle.
"Thank you," Dean did not mind the nickname, "you are good at this too."
Yaya throws the dart, hitting the same spot as Dean, "I know. I am also good at getting away with murder."
Dean's hand faltered as he threw the dart, hitting the wall instead of the board. "What?" He questioned as he turned towards Yaya.
"My brother told me a lot about you ever since you two started living together. Even though he does a lot of things for you, I believe you are suitable for him.
"We both have been through a lot, especially him. And I never want to see him get hurt. I like you, Dean. But if you ever do my brother wrong, then I will make sure you wished you have never been born."
Dean nervously laughed at the end of Yaya's speech. He wanted to lessen the tension, especially when Yaya looked very serious.
He cleared his throat, "I promise I will never do your brother wrong. I care for Caden; he is my other half."
Yaya's face softened as she picked up another dart, "Good. Now, let's finish this game. I want to play beer pong with you, the pretty girl, and Mr. Closet next."
Dean wanted to ask how she figured out that Zie was in the closet, but he pushed it away and continued the game.
Caden, sitting next to Wayne at the kitchen island, watched Dean and Yaya talking. Wayne took a bite from his pizza as he glanced at Caden.
"I don't think the friend you brought is going to steal Dean, so you do not need to keep watching them," Wayne spoke.
Caden finally looked away as he shook his head, "That is not why I am watching them. It is something else."
"Is it because the friend is your sibling?" Wayne casually asked as he started to take some fruit from the fruit bowl.
Caden looked at him with surprise written on his face, "How did you guess that?"
"You both look similar to each other, and you two have the air of siblings. But then again, I observed people a lot, so it was quick for me to catch on."
"Can you not tell anyone about it?"
"Don't worry, your secret is safe with me."
Caden opened his mouth to respond when they heard a loud crash. Everyone turned towards the noise.
"Seriously, Zie, break all my vases while you are at it." Lia clicked her tongue, speaking loud from the living room.
Zie crossed his arms, "You are the one who pushed me into it."
"I did not. But we all know you need pushing because you only know how to be a coward."
"Do not start this, Lia."
Wayne sighed, rubbing his temples as he grabbed a bottle of alcohol. He opened it, drowning half of it.
Caden watched him as he commented, "I don't think getting drunk will tune them out."
Wayne hummed, "It won't, but it will give me a nice buzz to not deal with it."
"Have you two talked about this?"
"Me drinking?" Wayne raised his eyebrow.
"No, you two being a secret for seven years already. Which leads to Zie and Lia fighting all the time." Caden answered.
Wayne put the bottle down, leaning his head on his palm as he put his arm on the table. "Not really. I tried talking about it many times, but it ended in an argument.
"I love Zie, and I want to be with him, so I push it back instead of bringing it up again."
"But doesn't that hurt?"
"It does hurt. But what can I do? I will wait until Zie is ready because I love him too much to walk away."
Caden sighed because if he were Wayne's boat, he would probably do the same thing. "I see. Sometimes love can make us do things not good for us."
Wayne hummed in agreement.
Zie walked into the kitchen with Lia following behind him. They both looked heated but were trying to calm down. When Zie looked at Wayne, he smiled. "I believe it is time to sing happy birthday before we spend the rest of the night watching movies."
Hearing those words, Dean and Yaya walked into the kitchen. "I cannot wait to eat the cake," Yaya commented.
Zie stood next to Wayne, secretly touching his back as Lia pulled out one candle, putting it in the cake. Dean and Yaya moved towards Caden.
Lia put the candle in the cake, pulling a lighter out right after as she lit it. When the fire started going, Lia pushed the cake towards Wayne as they began to sing happy birthday.
"Happy birthday to you." Everyone sang to Wayne.
Once they finished, Wayne blew out the candle. They gave a small cheer as Lia pulled out the candle and started cutting the cake.
Everyone got a piece, even Wayne (although his portion was small).
They hung in the kitchen, eating before having a small game of beer pong since Yaya insisted. The group played until midnight came.
Once it did, they went to the living room, turning off all the lights as they watched horror movies. Caden and Dean cuddled together as Dean fell asleep after the first movie.
At first, Zie tried not to look like he was cuddling with Wayne until he got frightened during the jump scares. He moved into Wayne's arms, putting his head on the man's shoulder. Wayne held his boyfriend, softly rubbing his back.
Yaya and Lia cuddled together as they shared a blanket, silently making fun of the horror movies.
Caden ran his hand through Dean's hair, already feeling like he was close to falling asleep. At this rate, Caden believes he is going to get addicted to having Dean in his arms.
