Part 3: Prelude to the fall of the Mar-Mortem State.
Goethe Greyskies, nephew of the prominent Grand Prior of the Holy Kingdom of Granheim, renowned battle prodigy, armed and protected with the most expensive battle equipment of the king's second army, stood on the border between the "domain of the savannah" and the recently formed “Estado Mar-Mortem”.
The battalion "Hunters of Evil" that he led, had 180 soldiers of god, 18 holy knights, the combat prior Elohí Amber, his second in command (Captain Antiphas Porter) and 5 classified elements.
Goethe sent the Sacred Knights and 80 soldiers of God, under the command of Antiphas Porter by an illegal passage that reached the road to the castle of the waterfalls on the south side.
Elohí Amber, took the classified elements along with 10 soldiers and entered through a hill that rose between the two domains, which would leave it on the north side of the castle of the waterfalls.
Goethe stayed in the rear with 60 soldiers of God, waiting for the signal to cross the border post called "Via a la sabana". He planned to attack the Mar-mortem State contingent head-on and move to Cascades Castle by the main road.
The troops of the "Mar-Mortem State" on the border were approximately 100 legionaries and 100 priests of the lunar goddess. The priests and legionaries were instructed in knowledge of battle and basic magical arts, some were even demi-human, with these accentuated qualities.
When Goethe Greyskies and his men arrived at the border post, the legionary commander in service Mar-Mortem evokes his gods:
-Look at what the gods have brought us ... some goldfish at the gates of our free state- With a hoarse voice, he stands up -None of you will set foot on our lands.
-Leave them to me. - Lieutenant Colonel Greyskies stopped.
I thank you sir, for the day to day. My sword will be the word of my lord, the Almighty Radiance.
-At least have some dignity, potentate. If you withdraw, we will not harm you. - Said the legionary commander.
But an enormous brightness and dull silence took the place, Goethe exclaimed the prayer that would seal the death of more than half of the legionaries on the border:
-Consumer fire!
The legionnaires, so called because being pagans could not be regular soldiers, but support from the royal armies of the Holy Kingdom Granheim, were burned ... alive. The metal of their helmets and armors stuck to their skin, their flesh peeled off their bones, and Goethe Greyskies breathed a sigh of exhaustion at the amount of energy released.
Rouge observed the deadly scene left by the lieutenant colonel and rebuked his jailers.
-The power of a whole god in the hand of just one man. All the power concentrated for years, all the prayers, all that faith and the sacrifices of a people are concentrated in a single call. But just in order to bring death to the enemies, what a shame.
Goethe Greyskies watched the still-burning bones as they passed through the border post. Not a banner was left standing there.
