A couple days later, from when I met the Hexes, I couldn’t concentrate at all, after failing to recruit these people into our cause. Maybe it will take a lot of convincing, perhaps other ways to get them in. Every rising Supernatural star says no at first, but they all fall in line the minute they are failing the game. They need our protection and the entertainment world for Supernatural people was small. The only way to make it really big was to crossover to the other side: The society where those powerless weaklings are, those Outsiders.
“There will be plenty of chances to get them again, Rox. Stop fretting yourself over it.” Casey was cooking over the stove, flipping a veggie burger in the frying pan.
Still furious about the events, I leaned my head, watching over my girlfriend, and said, “There is something about that group that I can’t shake off. That girl…”
Seeing that girl before, Amelia brought me back the memories of the past. The aura from this girl reminded me of someone, but who could this girl be? Then, there was a knock on the door. The two of us observed at the door curiously, wondering who could be here at this hour? Sighing, I walked over like a lazy person who just got up from their slumber.
Whoever this person was, they have no manners; disturbing us around this time! Pulling the door open, the familiar man standing before me was none other than The Hexes’ member, Toby Alecsandri. All I did was stand and study this guy up and down before he opened his mouth.
“Roxy? Right? We need to talk about our previous meeting.” Sensing the hardness in his voice, maybe the band’s minds changed about the deal after all.
As I straightened my hair in place, then showed a sweet smile to the boy and said, “Well, did your group have time to think about our offer…?”
After a long pause between us, Toby moved closer to my face with a scary glare, like an angry wolf. I staggered myself backward, trying to keep my balance, avoiding this guy’s attempt to frighten me.
“How about no? I want you to keep the hell away from us, including from Amelie!” Toby pulled out his wand, pointing it at my face.
"What the hell is this guy thinking?!" My thoughts screamed in my head.
This guy got some guts to come up to my apartment and threaten me. Pushing him to the wall, away from me, he picked the wrong person to threaten today! No need to pull out my magic to create a serious commotion. Grabbing his neck in one hand, I gave Toby an icy stare while caressing his face with the other. Maybe my deep seduction would keep him quiet.
“Now, dear, there is no need to pull your wand out on me. I will harm no one. Let me ask you a question: Why are you here at my place?” I told the boy with the nicest voice possible.
“You have some nerve to come near our band for some messed up offer!” Toby barked, not answering my question.
There was something about the meeting a couple of nights that must have set the boy off. However, I backed off after he yelled at me. Perhaps I should try to ask for a different way to offer this boy something. If I couldn’t get all The Hexes together for an offer, then I could try to get this guy to come to the right side. Casey walked up to the door, but I signaled her to stay put, as I didn’t want her to get involved with this.
“I see you care about Amelia, right? Let’s see, learning about your band, I’m aware the two of you are siblings, right?”
Toby rolled his eyes at me once more. I guess I touched an area that we could both relate to. We had sisters, well...at least, I did. I could bring this boy in if I just keep on talking to him using "protective brother nature" . So, I allowed the boy to come into my apartment to sit on my couch.
Toby still kept his guard up, which I don’t blame him for doing. As I sat myself right on the other side of him in an armchair, I felt comfortable sharing my story.
“You know, I always had a soft heart for my siblings? So, let’s try to sweeten up the deal. You care about Amelia, do you? There is a suitable spot for you to be at one of my tour stops. I can help shoot you up to stardom! If you join the Rise of Light, we will protect your band and your star rising sister will be safe. You have my word.” Giving Toby my signature smile before he gets up from the couch. I sighed and said, “Think about it, Alecsandri… Do you really think your band can stay undercover in the Outsider world and end up being famous? Eventually, you won’t be safe and let me tell you about those Supernaturals that try to make the crossover without our help. They won’t survive. I’m sure that will hurt your sister’s dream, right?”
“Your sister, Augusta, is it?” The boy casually asked, which that question took me aback. Toby’s cold eyes stared into mine and spoke. “Yeah, I heard stories about you, Roxanna Bach from someone that knew you: Your sister, Augusta. I bet if she was alive, she wouldn’t want you to keep on doing this shit. Sorry, I’m going to have to decline your shit offer. My band can make it without the help bunch of wackos...”
I cracked. Trying to grab the boy, but he moves too fast for me: A black hole develops right next to him. Quickly stepping inside it, he disappears without a single trace! Then, I realize what this boy’s magic is: Portal magic! This motherfucker can make portals! I am raging in anger, almost nearly losing my posture, until Casey ran over to me, patting my shoulder.
She hugged me while I breathe to myself, trying to calm down. Still shaken, I wanted payback for this bastard for even mentioning my dead sister. Then again, how does he know about Augusta? Why would he care? Pulling myself together, my lips touch Casey’s forehead to reassure that I am alright.
However, I knew one thing: The Hexes will not go far in the entertainment world without the help of the Rise of Light. That bastard was wrong about us! I’ll prove to him he was dead wrong about everything, including the shit he said about my sister. Letting The Hexes go for now was a blow to my self-esteem. But this game was far from over for them…
