“Crumble”
A person clad in black armor crashed in one of the walls. He was one of our instructors, Darnag.
Another person transformed his arm into a blade, executed a movement art and closed the distance with Midrand instantly.
Before the sharp edge reached him though, an arrow of mana shot the instructor.
Passive ability of discord, internal strife.
2 of the instructors retreated, trying to reform the formation.
Darnag and the instructor who shot the mana arrow also joined them.
Noticing something amiss, Lifa and Beto nodded, then they both propelled Yish forward, Beto using the winds and Lifa enhancing Yish’ innate ability.
“Decree, punishment”
Ksata, God of Light, is also one of the Judges and has the abilities as one.
The instructor's formation was broken as intense force crushed the air around them.
Mael immediately grabbed the chance and glanced at Beto and Lifa, relying on them to boost him forward.
He reached out, touching Bishvat’s, the rune instructor, armor. Instantly cracks formed in the seamless metal. Before the process was finished however, Darnag created a sphere of mana, only a few centimeters in diameter, before launching it at high speeds at Mael.
“Fall!” Out of the 6 of us, Mael was the most annoying. Beto can’t cast any powerful offensive spells yet, Midrand can only beguile weaker minded individuals, Mitaké and Lifael can only support and Yish other than blindening the instructors every so often, he can only exert a pressure on the air, not directly harming the instructors.
While Mael can’t control his edict, it is almost always active, never turned off.
On impact, the sphere condensed inwards, almost invisible to the naked eye.
Lifael felt danger, she couldn’t say why, but it was an instinct, flee. Yish also frowned, as the incarnation of a lawful god, he was sensitive to powers that cause imbalance.
Both of them were right, the spell Darnag used was his own creation, modified from a basic spell to create something on par with top tier magic. Attributeless mana condensed to a small orb, making it possible to fling it at speeds exceeding that of sound, then on impact further condensing, increasing the energy going rampant, then release of the outer shell formed with the spell. The result is similar to a supernova on a smaller scale.
A depression formed around Mael, the ground where he stood was completely destroyed, while he was stuck on the wall, bleeding intensely.
A small tremor occured when the explosion happened, making pretty much everyone lose their balance.
Yish shook his head in astonishment. “Isn’t this breaking the rules?”
It was Bishvat who answered.
“Nope, if I recall, it is a simulated battle, not a duel. If you can’t handle things of this level, go back to your own planet.”
Mael was on the verge of losing consciousness.
In a hurry Lifael used her own specialty, Life Sovereign.
She still doesn’t know the full extent of what it can do, but it is enough to completely recover Mael in his top form.
His wounds healed at a visible rate, before long he didn’t even have a scratch on him.
Under the effect of Life Sovereign, his physical ability was boosted to a ridiculous degree, his skin would have a similar toughness as steel, strength increased by a minimum of fivefold.
Rather than a mage, he was now a tank.
Granblos, another one of the instructors, the one who attacked Midrand noticed the change in Mael's body structure.
He immediately casted a myriad of debuffs, considerably weakening Mael.
Lifael countered, enhancing Mael even more.
Mitaké also used numerous buffs, her enhancements are from calligraphy, at the moment she still needs a pen or brush, and a surface to write on. Once she is better adapted, she would be able to write even on the air using mana as ink.
Meanwhile, the person in question was nauseous. Feeling empowered, then weak as a baby, then overflowing, almost bursting apart from power.
“Ugh, can you… can you stop?”
Darnag dashed, timing his attack with Granblos, and managed to knock Mael unconscious.
“Tsk” Lifa was disappointed, it was the first time she could actively use her spells but Mael passed out before she could try other enhancement spells.
“Summon Servant”
Bishvat said it, it is a complete simulated battle, so no holding back. Yish summoned an Angel.
A pillar of light descended from the sky, dropping in front of Darnag. Before the light faded away, a spear shot out, stabbing him squarely in the chest.
Then followed a figure shrouded in light. I noticed before but apparently the true appearance of an Angel is dangerous for mortals. I mean, even as a female I feel enchanted just by the silhouette.
The instructors fell back, forming a triangular formation, trapping the Angel.
I could’ve sworn I heard the Angel snort in disdain.
Without even bothering with the entrapment and sealing spells. She charged through, instantly shattering their formation.
At this point our side could just watch dumbfounded at one Angel against 5 instructors, and win one sidedly.
Lifael: “Isn’t this… a little too broken?”
Midrand: “Bruh, there is a literal army of these?”
Beto: “I want to lick her”
BOOM
Beto: “Why’d you slap me”
Mitaké: “Hmph”
After a good minute Yish unsummoned the Angel and stumbled before regaining his balance.
-Master Furfu, we have finished decoding the audio. I’ll send the report now.
A man was lying down, resting. In front of him were the unending monitors and panels which showed every inch of the WDA.
He opened his eyes, reading the largest screen.
“Heh, how interesting, an interstellar war. Christia, invest more on the blackhole research and also look for a way to travel across dimensions”
-Yes Master.
He stroked his chin.
“This is bigger than I expected… Chaos Energy… mana, it isn’t a bad name. Heeheheh, daring to disturb my plans. These Yaju are fearless, let them know true pain”
Desiderius was a genius, one only seen once a million years. But he was a deranged genius, one with endless greed. No one really knew how great of an enemy he would become.
“Yish, excellent, good decision making and leadership. As for the rest, fairly okay, so so, eh didn’t pay much attention. Beto make use of your damned abilities, you have the power of a God in you, but don’t even use divine mana. Mael do something with your damned personality or fix up the attitude of your ability. Midrand, get out of here, in battle you are practically useless. You can cause full out wars with your passive effects and even make people kill themselves out of mental discord, but right now, absolutely useless. Lifael, what even are you? Do you not understand even when I hammered it into your head so many times? You have the edict of Life, one of the main 5 Gods of the lawful side. Yet you can only use support spells? If this isn’t a joke what is?! Your edict makes you able to control life, not support it!! Tch.”
We all had our heads lowered, unable to refute any of the things he said.
But at the same time I felt hope. I thought something was off, Knavnos said to me when we first met that I’d be Queen of Life, Ruler of Creation etc. But since I awakened I could only use supportive spells. Aurofium wouldn’t be able to become a main god with just this, I simply hadn’t understood his edict deeply enough.
However I also felt a tinge of despair, because all this cursing meant more intensive training.
