I don’t know. Has a month passed? Or a year? We were put in hell for who knows how long.
All I know is that we are finally going to be free, able to do whatever we want. A few moments from now we will be entering our first real battlefield. The Herol race against Gaud race. The war involved a total of 41 intelligent races. The race we support is Herol.
Gaud, Fen, Ploum and Beues are the races we should have our attention on, the rest haven’t bothered with Herol up to now.
Perhaps the one who underwent the biggest transformation was Yish. He could now maintain an Angel permanently, 2 Angels for around a day, 3 an hour. Besides that he could now cast a spell called: Descent of Light. He temporarily gains a part of Ksata’s Status.
Mitaké somehow became useful. I still don’t understand the concept of Art and how it would be useful in war, but that is what the instructors said, they didn’t explain much.
Mael had fully assimilated with his edict of Ruin. It is powerful, without a doubt, but I don’t know how big the impact of his ability would be in battle.
Beto ascended, literally. The people call it ascension in life hierarchy. To become a higher life form. He used to have the edict of Wind, a part of a god’s power, but now he was basically a half-god himself. The scale and impact of his spells increased dramatically, I’m sure he would be one of the key figures in a large-scale war.
Midrand, he still hasn’t gained a deeper understanding of his edict, nor did he assimilate it more than 70%.
As for me… the edict of Life is too hard for me to understand. I managed to perfectly assimilate with the edict, but understanding it and fully using it is impossible. But right now it isn’t wrong to say, as long as you have a breath in you, I can save you.
Life Sovereign’s effects increased. I can also faintly sense everyone’s lifeforce.
“Dropping in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Release”
As we fell from the sky, we saw a plain, filled with blood. One side was silver, the other side was green. People were killing each other, then killed.
I muttered under my breath. “Life Sovereign”
“Floor”
The air seemed to solidify under us.
“Discord”
“Fall”
“Judgement”
“Gale”
Only Mitaké was silent. On the silver side, wounds healed up at a visible rate, and they fought with renewed vigor. The red side suddenly started to attack each other, while their armory and weapons turned to dust. A fierce whirlwind churned, gathering most of the red side in one spot as a ray of death fell from the sky.
It didn’t end, if a battle ended so easily it wouldn’t be called a war.
More and more red dots swarmed up, shooting us.
Mitaké drew something, and the air around us bent. I wouldn’t have noticed but with the high sensitivity as a God Vessel, I noticed the spatial laws being bent under her will.
‘This is? How does this fall under the category of art?’
Then on the other side, we saw a spaceship approaching.
I could sense their lifeforce, and I subcounsciously shuddered. They were the same.
Yish pointed at it: “Light obliteration”
I yelled to stop, but it was too late.
I immediately strengthened the barriers around us, motioning Mitaké to do the same.
A burst of blackness. The light scattered, as 2 figures stepped out. The right one said something, softly, but we all heard it.
“Field of Death”
The left one also muttered a few words.
“Curse: Mark of the sinned”
An ominous energy rippled from the two, spreading to the Herols. I panicked, even with my Life Sovereign their lifeforce was being drained faster than it was regenerated.
Yish frowned. “Summon Servants”
Two pillars of light descended and shot towards the two people who stepped outside.
“Curse of darkness”
For the first time I saw the Angels being pushed back.
“Vessels, do they have the edict of Death and Curse?”
“Tch, to think Gauds had 2 main God vessels hidden”
Darnag scoffed, but was visibly worried.
Mitaké started to draw furiously.
“Aura of Futility”
Darnag, Bishvat and Knavnos’ eyes widened. “Three? How? Even one main god would be a lot…”
Mitaké stumbled, dropping her brush, she didn’t try to pick it up again.
I sensed her aura, her will was crushed to nothingness. “Life will impartation”
“Domain, Tempest”
“Domain, beguilement of heavens”
Two domains, one of the highest tiers of spells merged and formed around the spaceship.
“Degenerate”
“Curse of Weakness”
Bishvat fainted.
Knavnos’ words thundered across the battlefield. “Retreat! Full retreat!”
We all looked at him, confused by his actions.
He bit his lip.
“Goddess of Death, Goddess of Curse, God of Futility and God of Degeneration. Those are 4 Main Gods. Each one has a far higher influence in battle than you. The combination of those for powers…”
Beto hurriedly lifted the winds, moving back to the spaceship which already started to turn around. This battle was lost.
Just as they were about to enter hyperdrive a cold voice echoed.
“Capture prey. Mark of Hunt. Caspar’s bullet”
Darnag whitened, it was a god he believed in too, God of Hunt, Caspar. None can escape if you are marked as a prey.
He clicked his tongue. “Fine” he glanced at the other Herols. Simultaneously they jumped off.
“Enchant. 5 points speed, 5 points strength. Dragon eye formation”
BOOOOM
There was no warning, only a sound, one of the instructors looked down at the gaping hole 30 centimeters in diameter.
“Heal”
“Degeneration” “Curse of imminent death”
Knavnos also stepped outside the ship. He turned back. “Tell HQ, avoid Gaud from now on at all costs”
And he kicked, a few million tons of metal in space, enough to cover the visible sky, was kicked away through pure physical force.
“Sprinting winds”
“Halo of Lightspeed”
‘It wasn’t enough? Everything we did, and we couldn’t even do anything?’
This wasn’t true, if the Gauds hadn’t gotten even 3, much less 4 main gods, they could’ve easily overpowered them. But at the same time Lifael had an understanding. Meaning of Life, goal of Life, destination of Life. The Cycle of rebirth, reset of karmic essence. They suddenly clicked.
A blue light flickered to life in front of her. It was a screen of sorts.

I tried to ask the others if they could see this, but no sound came, nor did my mouth even move.
At that moment another one of the ‘screens’ popped up.
Entity silenced.
I read a lot of novels you see, at this point I already had a vague idea of what it was, but I had not the faintest idea how.
