Everett squeezed himself between the narrow aisles as he tossed food, drinks and medicine into the basket he held in one hand. His brows furrowed as he tried to remember what Victoria requested.
“Some sort of new craft beer?” He muttered to himself, keeping the freezer door propped open with a booted foot.
He scratched his dark wavy hair and frowned.
“Peach something or other.” He muttered again, squinting at the endless rows of beers. With a grunt, he fished his phone out of his pocket and dialed her number.
“Changed my mind. I’ll just have whatever you’re having, hot stuff.” She answered, having picked up on the first ring.
Everett rolled his eyes as he closed the freezer door and strode towards the end of the aisle. “I swear, you’ll be the death of me woman.”
“A beautiful way to go, if you ask me.” He could hear the smile in her voice.
He snorted, having opened the other freezer door to grab the last of the beer stocked inside. “You sound more and more like Mikael.” A slight pause, as he made his way towards the cash register. “Did that punk wake up yet?”
Victoria sighed. “Unfortunately yes.”
Everett grinned at the sound of a familiar voice shouting behind her.
“Yo Everett! Don’t forget my Kit Kats!”
Everett grinned, even while Victoria bickered with him.
“He’s back to his jackass self, but feel free to not get him anything. He might still need to recover.” She mocked.
Everett could hear Mikael protest but Victoria had already hung up.
Reaching the register, he fished out some folded bills and coins from his jeans pocket.
“Get me a pack of those as well.” He nodded towards the cigarettes but froze at the familiar sight of a petite girl and Kian walking alongside each other.
“Keep the change.” He muttered, dropping the largest bill and grabbing the bags the cashier had just finished packing.
He stepped out of the store and looked to his left, finding that they had already disappeared. He tensed, wondering if he should follow anyways, then shrugged his shoulders.
If Sarina was right, she and Kian are heading to the warehouse.
Everett decided to take another route, hoping to get there before them. Based on Julian’s description, it may get chaotic once that girl arrives.
“We’re in for one hell of a night.” He muttered, picking up his pace.
