CHAPTER III: The Mistake

“Finally!” I shouted in excitement, “My memory hasn’t failed me!”

Ever since I attended school on the day I came back from the future I always felt I had forgotten something. I finally remembered what it was. What my trauma was and the reason why Tyrone had died. Both our problems had on origin and these were problems I had to get rid of. As they say the only way to get rid of a problem is to get to the origin first. The origin of both our problems whether past, present or future was Mitch and his gang of thugs. My decision was to think rationally and come up with a solution. My decision was to settle this peacefully, I thought there was no need for pointless violence, if there was a possibility that we could settle this with just words I would gladly take the chance. I took the risk and decided to confront Mitch. I found Mitch outside behind the pool’s changing rooms. As I approached one of the gangster stopped me asking me,

“Where do you think you’re going kid? Get out of here before I beat you to a pulp!” Sighing in annoyance I replied,

“I’m here on Mitch’s command.”

Of course this had been a lie as I was just trying to settle things peacefully. He took me to where Mitch was and told him,

“Boss, this kid said you called for him.”

Seated like a king on his throne was Mitch who looked as arrogant as ever. He then replied,

“I didn’t call anyone to come at this ti-!”

He then realized who I was. With and arrogant smile on his face he stood from his seat and began to stride towards me.

“Well, well, well!” He said, “If it isn’t the monkey’s friend. What brings you to this ratchet place?”

His tone was very provocative but I wasn’t one to easily get agitated so I ignored his provocations and said to him,

“I’m here to ask for something…”

He replied, “What is it little man!?” in his arrogant and provocative tone.

“I would like you to stop bother or bullying Tyrone.” I said with an expressionless face.

He replied saying, “Or what…?”

My eyes went dark and my expression became cold. I then said,

“Or you’ll regret it.”

Mitch flinched for a second and then there was silence. You could only hear the birds chirping and the wind as it blew through the leaves. Mitch then then asked himself,

“What was that…? I’m certain I felt like I was facing a tiger there. It was probably my imagination.”

He then began to laugh psychotically and all his other goons followed suit as they laughed along with him while they murmured,

“Haha! Did you just hear that kid?” “He’s asking for trouble, he wants to get beaten haha!” “Did he just tell Mitch that he would regret it?” “I can’t believe the guts this kid has!”

As Mitch continued laughing he suddenly stop and shouted, “What the hell are you doing? Grab him now!!!”

They surrounded me but my intentions was not to fight. I let them hold me down as Mitch grabbed a wooden stick and beat me with it. My pain tolerance was higher than in the past. This must have come as a result of the pain and suffering I went through in my past life. As he beat me he continuously laughed psychotically and yelled,

“How will I ever regret something like this something so thrilling and fun like this!! You a weakling dared to threaten me!? You will be the one to regret ever coming here!”

He suddenly stopped and said, “How does it feel to be weak?”

I then looked up at him and said, “You’re not all that if that’s all you’ve got! Come one hit harder! Hit like a man! Hit like you mean it!”

With anger Mitch went ahead and pummeled me. He pummeled me until I bled from my head and even after that he kept pummeling. The guys who held me down let go because of fear. They thought that Mitch had gone too far and was showing no mercy. But even though Mitch continued to beat me. I realized that this was enough and decided to hold my breath till I passed out. It was taking longer than I expected so I just pretended to pass out. Mitch finally ran out of stamina and stopped. Huffing as if he had ran a marathon he shouted,

“Get me a towel and bottle of water!” Everyone around him just stared in awe of what they had just happened. They never knew Mitch was this cold blooded. He then shouted,

“What the hell are you staring at! Do you want to be next!? Get me a towel and water now!!”

Someone then gave him the towel and bottle of water and he shouted, “Let’s go this place is making me sick!” He walked past my body and said, “It was your mistake for coming here. It’s not my fault you’re that weak.”

He threw the bloodied wooden stick on me and left. "Mistake Huh?" I thought to myself.

I decided to take a little nap to recuperate since the hard part of my plan was complete. I woke up at sunset and quickly rushed home. For the next two weeks I prepared myself for now finally getting rid of Mitch. With this marked the beginning of my revenge. This was vengeance for Tyrone and I and it was something I got really excited for.

With a sinister grin on my face I said, "Get ready Mitch. The person who made the mistake was you. Hope you’re ready for the consequences of your actions. Beware for I am more than you think I am."

With a sinister grin I canceled the days on my calendar patiently waiting for the day I would finally exact my revenge.
