Nobody Loves Me BL OMEGAVERSE

Jax Pt.2

Jax Pt.2

Jun 05, 2021

After reassuring my parents that I wasn't a bully and that I have every intention of fixing things with Sean. They looked like they were finally ready to tell me why they pulled me out of school and why they keep mentioning my mate. Unfortunately the Goddess had other plans. Dad got a mind link that had him rushing us out of the house and into his truck. My head hurts from all of the overthinking I have been doing today. I just wish that they would tell me what is going on. All of this suspense is putting Jeremiah on edge. It’s already hard enough to keep him under control on a regular day but now I can feel him pushing to come out. If I don’t get a handle on him now, things could get very ugly.

Just as we were pulling into the pack clinic parking lot dad clears his throat. “I know you’re probably wondering what is going on Jax.” He paused for my response which was a simple nod. “Well the news that I mentioned that we got earlier was about Sean. He had an accident after he got home from school on Monday and was unconscious until Wednesday.” My whole entire body went numb. Jeremiah is angry that they waited until now to tell us this.

“Are we here to see him?” I had to ask because we still haven’t made a move to get out of the truck and dad hasn’t unlocked the doors yet anyway.

“Yes we are.” This came from my mom. “There is something else that you need to know before we head inside.” What else could there possibly be. “I’m sure that you heard what your father was talking about on the phone, about the non packmate.” She wasn’t asking me, so I didn’t give her a response.

“Well that person is Sean’s mother.” The venom that came out with that last part made Jeremiah quiet down a little and listen to what’s being said. I wait for her to continue but dad quickly picks up where she left off. “Sean is okay but that woman has some nerve showing up here after what she did to them.” Even dad had a bit of a bite in his tone. What does he mean? What did she do? I was going to ask but kept quiet incase there was more. I also thought about telling them that I already knew that Sean’s mom was already here since Tuesday, but I decided against that too. I don’t need their anger turned on me right now. I just want to get out and get to Sean. Finally dad unlocks the doors, not saying anything else.

One of the enforcers approaches the truck to talk to dad but I don’t stick around to listen. My feet quickly make their way into the clinic to find my mate, only to spot a crowd gathered in the hallway. The closer I get to the crowd I can hear raised voices coming from somewhere down the hall. I push my way through the crowd heading towards the voices not even realizing that my parents have caught up with me. Once people realize that my parents and I are there they start making a path for us to pass through. Some even have enough of a brain to lower their heads and start to slowly move away. I can already hear the exaggerated stories about whatever has happened here today. I want to say something to them about keeping what they heard to themselves but I have no right to tell them that. Besides Jeremiahs’and my focus at this very moment is only on one thing. ‘Make sure mate is safe’ is repeating in my head as Jeremiah paces back and forth ready to protect our mate if needed.

“Who are you to touch me?” Sean! I quicken my pace as he continues to raise his voice to whoever upset him. Just before reaching the doorway I hear him say, “The last time I checked, you lost all rights to me years ago.” He sounds very upset and exhausted now. Turning into the doorway where the voices were coming from, I see my mate and feel myself release a breath I didn’t even know I was holding. Dr. Jewell was the first in the room to notice us but paid him attention as he greeted us. I canceled everything out and took in the sight of my mate who I haven’t seen for four days.

Running my eyes over every inch of him that I can see from my point of view. His thick curly maroonish hair that always looks like a lion's mane, is a giant puffball on top of his head. I can’t see his beautiful green eyes from the way he is standing. His java mocha skin that is always glowing and drives me insane when he decides to show it off is kind of pale. His curvy body is covered up today with an oversized grey t-shirt paired with baggy grey sweatpants. He turned to face us and I saw that his shirt had a giant bear cub holding out its paws with a bubble next to it that says, “Don’t be afraid to love me.” At the bottom of the bubble says, “Start with a hug.” I find it very cute, I like this comfortable homely look.

When I heard the trio laugh I finally started paying attention to what was being said instead of staring holes into Sean’s face.

Dr. Jewell is showing a woman who I assume to be Sean’s mother a piece of paper. Hearing the hurt in my mates voice as he lets his mother know that he heard her when she said she wanted to sell him. He also played a recording of her saying that she was only there to get Sean so she can sell him to pay off a debt.

She wanted to do what!? ‘Can we kill her?’ Jeremiah rumbles in my head. I can feel his anger building the more we hear. Now I can understand my parents' anger towards the woman who I am glad is no longer a part of my mates life.

For the thousandth time today I have to hold my wolf back. ‘Jeremiah calm down.’ After the recording ended Sean turned to his dad and said something to him. Dr. Jewell asked my dad if it was okay to leave. After all of this I can see that Sean is really over the entire thing. He probably wants to be as far away from here as possible. He must have felt my eyes on him because he turns and those mesmerizing light green orbs connect with mine. I hope he doesn't run, I would really like to try and apologize. Just as the thought enters my mind his dad gives him his car keys and tells him to head to the car and he makes a quick departure.

I should probably wait until some other day to do this but I know I won't have a chance like this again. Without much thought, I followed his scent down the hall he escaped down. I spot him just as he pushes through the doors to the employee parking lot. I pick up my pace and catch up to him just as he steps up to a black jeep that I assume is his dads’.

“Sean, can I talk to you for a moment please.” He turned around to face me with a guarded look on his face. When he didn't give a response, I took it as an okay to continue. “I know this may not be the right time for this but I really wanted to apologize for how I treated you when you first moved here. I honestly didn't think it would make you keep this wide of a berth and even run away everytime you see me.” He tilts his head to the side and folds his arms around himself like a protective barrier. “Why now? Why apologize after all this time?”

I figured he would ask that the question I always ask myself is if he will even believe me when I tell him. Rubbing the back of my neck I think of the best way to voice what is in my head. “Well I have wanted to apologize for a few years now, but whenever you see me coming you run in the opposite direction. Plus we don't have any classes together nor do we share the same friends obviously. I didn't want you to think I was trying to bully you by just waiting for you at your locker or outside one of your classes.” I chuckle a bit thinking about what his reaction would be like if I were to approach him out of the blue or  wait outside of his classroom for him. “What’s so funny?” His nose scrunched up as he straightened his stance to a more defensive one.

“I was thinking about what your reaction would have been if I had gone to your class to talk to you or even approached you somewhere else. First you wouldn't think that I’m there to see you. Second, you would probably do what you usually do and  avoid me”. I decided to answer truthfully.

“You would have had every right to. I really never meant to make it seem as though I didn’t like you.”

“Why did you do it then? You made it very clear that I wasn’t welcome here.” Damn hearing those words hurt but from his point of view that is exactly how it must have seemed. “At the time I was annoyed at everyone always making it seem like they knew me. Or if their families were invited to my house I always had to play with them. The next day at school or even out on the street they would  approach me to ask for something or use me as an excuse to get out of trouble. I judged you before getting to know you. I know that's a shit excuse but it's the truth and I am truly sorry.” I really did judge him without giving him a chance. He is quiet for a few moments, just staring at me.

“I can understand that. Only because I have heard people talk about it. I just thought they were a little aggressive at first, but to be honest I thought that you did it because I was an Omega.” Well I didn't expect him to say that. “But then I remembered that your mom is an Omega, besides you didn't say anything about it. I realized that my mind was over analyzing things. Besides ” He said with a small frown on his face.

“There is something I want to tell you but I don't want you to think that I only apologized for that reason.” Sean looks around me as the sound of the metal exit door squeaks open. I also turned my head slightly to see who it was that came through the door. It was both of our parents, dad was talking to Dr. Jewell and Brenda while mom just stood next to them just listening. “What is it that you want to tell me? Make it quick before my parents get here please.” I didn't know how to tell him this exactly, even though I practiced a million different ways to tell him that he was my mate. I think the best method in this scenario is to be as straightforward as possible.

“Ahh.. Well I’m not sure if you will believe me or not when I say it but you’re my mate.”

He didn’t say anything for a few seconds and then he doubled over laughing. “That’s very funny Jax. You almost had me going there.” He said while still bent over laughing. I didn’t expect this kind of reaction, I’m actually a little relieved but also a little hurt. When I don’t say anything and just stand there waiting for him to get himself together.

“Wait, are you being serious right now?” His laughter died instantly as he looked at me for confirmation or maybe he wanted me to say it was a joke. “I’m being very serious. I wouldn’t joke about something like this. As I said I didn’t really expect you to believe me but I wouldn’t lie about something like this. You are my mate.” He started shaking his head while backing away from me until he was pressed up against his dad’s jeep. “Look I can understand if you don’t want to be my mate. You can reject me and end this all right here and forget I ever said anything.”

He didn't say anything and I could hear our parents making their way towards us.

“Sean, just think about it. You don’t have to give me an answer until you are ready. But I do have a suggestion or shall I say a condition before you make your choice.”

He bites his plump bottom lip and waves his hand in a circle for me to continue.

“I would like for us to get to know each other. We can hang out and study together or we can go out on dates. ” At the mention of us going on a date his face scrunched up and a worried look passed over his face. I rushed to add, “It doesn’t have to be just us you can bring Jasmine if that would make you feel more comfortable. I would just like a chance to show you that I’m not the same jerk who hurt you when we were younger.” He looked around me again before looking back up at me but before he could answer my dad called my name as Sean’s parents got to where we were standing. I say my farewells to the trio and make my way to where my parents stood waiting for me.

I don't know what his decision will be but I hope he gives me a chance to at least become his friend if not his mate. “Were you able to make amends with your mate?” My dad asks as we all get into the truck. “Uhh.. I’m not sure yet. He sort of accepted my apology but he laughed when I told him he was my mate.” It still hurts a little thinking about his reaction but I can’t be upset about it. I’m just happy he didn't get mad or reject me right away. “Well hon there is nothing you can do but give him space and time.” Mom said as she put her hand on my shoulder. I nod as I catch my dad’s stormy grey eyes in the rearview mirror. “This is why I always told you not to judge everyone the same. There will always be that one person you mistakenly hurt because you were blind to see past your own hurt.” I can't deny that he did warn me on multiple occasions but I was too stubborn to actually listen. I thought that I was right in keeping everyone at arms distance with about ten walls of defense in between.

All I can do is wait. I’ve already been waiting a few years, I can wait a bit longer. I just hope and pray that I don't mess it up if he does decide to give me a chance.

It is very obvious that I don't deserve him, but I will spend the rest of my life trying to make it up to him in any way possible, as long as he would let me.
