Olivia's POV
"Urgh......" I groaned and glanced around. I realized that I had slept on the floor in my room and Lativa was sitting on the bed, grinning down at me.
"How can you be so energetic so early in the morning?" I asked and Lativa huffed at me.
"It's because I trained myself to stay up for a long period of time. Anyways, I am going to sleep. Call me in your mind if you need my help." I felt Lativa went into me and smiled as I stared at the scenery from my window.
"Hey, Lativa, do you love mornings?" I mentally asked Lativa and she gave me a mental nod.
"Yeah. Why?" I glanced out of the windows and smiled mentally and physically.
"Because I never thought of you like a morning person." Lativa snorted and then didn't bother me. I gave her a mental frown.
"I was just kidding. Come on, don't be so sensitive!" Lativa gave a mental shrug and mentally raised her hand.
"I give up," Lativa said before she mentally grinned at me and gave a smug look.
"You and I are so going to have some fun later during training, Olivia." She mentally said in my head and I groaned. Seconds later, someone ran into my room and when I turned around, I saw an irritated Irene looking at me.
"You were supposed to be downstairs half an hour ago. I was worried sick that you were dead, Olivia!" Irene said exasperatedly and I hung my head in shame.
"Sorry." Irene's expression softened and she looked at me in worry.
"What's with the sighing Olivia?" I frowned, not knowing how to tell her about the training from Lativa. Irene glanced to the floor on the left side of the bed where the blanket and pillows were placed on the floor by Lativa after I had slept and gave an "oh" face.
"You were training weren't you?" I nodded at her and pat at the space next to me on the bed to indicate her to sit. Irene sat beside me and I told her everything and about what Lativa said yesterday.
"Training?" I nodded and Irene smiled brightly.
"That's great! And the assassin you's name is Lativa?" I nodded again and she grinned even brighter.
"Cool! She could also help with our training if she wants." Irene said and I mentally asked Lativa about what she thinks about training Chris and Irene.
"I think training both of them would be okay though I don't like the vibe of that Chris dude. He's way too stubborn for me to teach him and I bet he still hates me." I relayed what Lativa said to Irene. Irene frowned.
"Lativa, Chris was never stubborn. It's just that he had a rough childhood that's why he acted this way. After all, he is a kind person at heart. Just give him a chance, okay?" I felt Lativa mentally nod and I grinned.
"Lativa agreed to train you guys starting today night. So be ready to give a reason to dad why we all went out at night." Irene laughed and pat me on my back.
"You're on, partner."
-----in the police department-----
"Sir, I would like to take leave to visit my aunt today," I informed the Chief of the Police Department and he frowned.
"Why is that?" He asked and I tried to swallow my sliver as I tried to say the reasons I wanted to say.
"Because my aunt and uncle are old. Because I haven't visited them for weeks. Because I still miss them. Anything else?" The Chief shook his head and nodded at me.
"I'll send your application for leave personally to the General. I hope he would let you go and visit your aunt and uncle." I nodded and went back to my desk to start working on the case files.
-----a few hours later-----
"I would like to see Miss Gabelman in my office now." I heard the Cheif announced and I smiled reassuringly at Irene and Chris before I went to the Cheif's office.
-----in the Cheif's office-----
"Ah Miss Gabelman, nice to meet you. Mr. Markle, would you kindly let both Miss Gabelman and I talk alone in your office?" Mr. Markle, who is the Chief, nodded and swiftly left the office leaving me and Mr I-don't-know to talk.
"I assume you wanted to visit your uncle and aunt yes as you haven't seen them after a long time?" I nodded stiffly at the General's words. Seeing me feeling uncomfortable, the General gestured at me to sit on the chair opposite him and I sat, still polite. He immediately waved his hand at me.
"I'm sorry that I made you feel uncomfortable Olivia but you could speak freely. I don't mind if you are going to be a bit rude." I nodded and started speaking.
"First, how do you know my name?" The General laughed as I flushed red in embarrassment.
"Of course because I saw your name on your resume, Olivia but for a personal reason," he leaned his head to my ear and whispered, "Because I know your father and he told me your name. I had to admit I didn't know you could be this charming now than when I had met you in the past."
I frowned as he said that and tried to remember the time I had met the General. Suddenly I was swept in a memory.
-----flashback-----
Timeline: When Olivia was actually three, just on her birthday
"Daddy? There is a man outside waiting for you and he claimed he knows you. Should I open the door to let him in?" Justice, looking like a 34-year-old man at that time with silvery-grey hair tied into a low ponytail and silvery-grey eyes, patted young Olivia's head and smiled.
"That is your uncle. He was one of daddy's old friends. Let him in and bring him into the study." Young Olivia nodded and turned to leave the study but Justice halted her.
"Wait, you have to come to the study too. I would like you to meet your uncle." Young Olivia nodded and let the older man into the study. She closed the door of the study behind her as she went to stand behind Justice.
"Olivia, meet your uncle, Max Rosewell." Young Olivia peeked out from Justice's back and waved shyly to the man now known as Max.
"I'm sorry Max but my daughter is really shy." Max nodded and smiled.
"I understand." He gently walked forward until he was in front of Young Olivia and kneeled before her.
"Here you go, Happy Birthday." Max gently handed Young Olivia a rose and Young Olivia smiled shyly before saying a soft thank you.
"She is so soft-spoken just like her mother." Justice smiled proudly at Olivia and nodded.
"Yeah. She learned a lot about manners from her mother." Max nodded.
"Yeah, I can tell. She is really cute though. Just like how you were when we first met." Justice stared at Max in horror and backed away, red-faced.
"I'm not cute at all when we first met!" Max laughed at the sight of his friend while Young Olivia stood on one side, confused.

-------timeline: when Olivia was 4, ten days before the assassination of her father-----
"Uncle Max, why can't you stay here longer? Daddy will miss you and so will I." Max chuckled sadly while gently patting Young Olivia's head.
"There are some bad people Olivia who will try to control the movements of your daddy and his friends and as one of your daddy's friends, I can't stay long because if they find out, they will give your daddy a harsher punishment." Young Olivia cried softly at Max.
"Max, I will not betray my family though. After all, you had always been trying hard to protect me especially since most of my powers were subdued by those damn chains. I will always risk my life protecting my family and you know it. You damn well know my fatal flaw, Max." Justice said and Max smiled sadly.
"I know. That's why I want to do this. I do not want to see you die, Justice, my damn old friend." Justice smiled sadly at Max in understanding and mentioned to Max. Max went to his friend's side and frowned.
"What is it?" Justice mentioned to Max to come closer and whispered in Max's ear.
"If I die, I want you to swear on Chaos's name that you will protect my daughter no matter the cost." Max's eyes went wide at the revelation and started sprouting curse words under his breath.
"You can't just say something like that! Justice, you know what will happen if I break my oath!" Justice nodded, his eyes held seriousness, proudness, and something like sincereness.
"I know the consequence, Max. That's why I want you to swear on Chaos's name on what I had asked you to swear." Max was slightly taken aback by the swirling emotions in Justice's eyes and nodded sadly.
"I understand. I swear on Chaos's name that I will protect your daughter Justice no matter the cost." Justice smiled sadly at Max and hugged him tightly. Max also did the same. After both Max and Justice pulled apart, Max gently patted Justice on the back.
"Be safe." Justice also patted Max on the back.
"You too." Max nodded once and went down the road leaving Young Olivia crying and Justice waving sadly at him.
-----flashback over-----
"Wait, General, you are Uncle Max?!" The General, now known as Max Rosewell nodded. I immediately hugged Max and he smiled sadly.
"You've grown a lot, Olivia. I'm sorry that I was not there when you were all alone." I shook my head and smiled.
"It's not your fault, Uncle Max. Thank you for all you have done for father and me." Max grinned and hugged me again.
"I am so proud of you, Olivia." I smiled at Max.
"Uncle Max, do you allow me to visit my aunt and my uncle now?" Max nodded at me and smile.
"Of course. Let me sign your document. Oh, wait, before I sign that, I would like to invite you for lunch because we have so much to catch up on and to tell you the truth about the assassination of your father and the killing of your younger sister and mother." Max gave me a permission letter and smiled.
"This is my permission letter to let you have lunch with me tomorrow at 1 pm. Please be there, Olivia." I nodded and Max smiled before giving me my leave application letter with his signature on it. I took both the application letter and the permission letter from Max and grinned. Nodding at Max, we both walked out of the police department with him putting his hand behind my back in a friendly manner while I grinned at him. We both waved and went to our separate ways leaving my friends and colleagues stunned with surprise.
-------at Olivia's Aunt's place-----
"Aunt? Uncle? Zyrus? Carson?" I asked as I tried to find my uncle, aunt, and cousins. The oldest one of my cousins, Zyrus waved at me as I approached him. He looked taller than I first remember with his slightly long golden blonde hair waving in the wind and his caramel golden eyes brightening up knowing that I am okay. He had a slight stubble but his grin was still as bright as ever.
"Hiya Cuz. So glad to see you safe and well." I laughed at his weird accent and his grin widen. He patted me on my back and steered me to my uncle's house, laughing and talking. As we went near, I saw my uncle and my aunt and immediately ran forward to hug them. They hugged me back and let me into the house for dinner. I turned around and asked them the question that was on my mind.
"Where's Carson?" They glanced worriedly at each other then shook their heads.
"Olivia......." Zyrus started but was stopped by my uncle.
"Carson.........." My aunt continued and she could not stop the tears from sliding down her face.
".......is dead." My uncle finished their sentence while his whole body shook as tears came castrating down his face. I stood there in shock as I heard what my uncle had said while trying to contain my tears but couldn't.
"How?" I asked and Zyrus looked me in the eye.
"By poison." I stared at him wide-eyed, unable to move as though being creamed by fear. Zyrus hugged me as he saw me standing there in fear. I hugged him fiercely as if I did not want him to let go of me. After a while, we both broke from the hug and I looked at them determinedly.
"Who poisoned Carson?" Zyrus, my aunt, and uncle gave each other a look before sighing.
"We can't tell you. It's classified." I demanded a few times but after seeing Zyrus, my aunt, and uncle refused to budge, I relented.
"All right. I'll figure it myself. Anyways, enough of the serious chats. Let's celebrate my return." Everyone laughed and nodded.
"Thank you for taking care of me all those years. I am home." my aunt, uncle, and cousin, Zyrus, immediately lifted their glasses in a toast.
"To home." We clinked our glasses and we began eating dinner, chatting while laughing once in a while as I told them my years and adventures with my two best friends. After dinner, Zyrus and I were on the duty of washing dishes. We started okay but in the end, it ended with a water fight and we both were scolded by my aunt and uncle because of the mess we made in the sink area. After the duty, we all sat in front of the porch watching the stars twinkling in the sky.
"It feels so peaceful here," I said and Zyrus nodded while watching me.
"Yeah. I wonder how long this peaceful feeling will last." I nodded too while looking up at the sky.
"As long as we're together, we can overcome these difficult times right?" Zyrus gave a curt nod and grinned.
"Yeah. Anyways, how's it like living with your friend and her father?" I gave a small smile at his question.
"It's fine I guess, and normal as how I used to live with my birth parents and my real sister. After all, my friend's dad is the Chief of the Police Department, and that he took me in and treated me equally like how he treated my friend." Zyrus grinned and looked back at the stars.
"Do you regret not being with me?" Zyrus asked me and I shook my head.
"No, because I know you are safe and that we communicate with letters once in a while. Plus, I told my friend's dad aunt's house's location so I managed to meet you twice a year all my years growing up." Zyrus smiled at my answer.
"Thank god that your friend's father is kind and takes care of you when we're not always with you through your years growing up." I nodded and smiled brightly.
"Yeah." We both looked to our left and saw that my aunt and uncle had already gone back inside the house and we both exchanged looks.
"Hey Olivia, we better go back into the house. It's cold outside." I nodded and we both went into the house and went to bed.
