“S-Six years?!?” Akilah asked stumped
“That's too long. I-I will not be able to avenge Adara. Who knows if that
bastard will still be alive by then!”
“Well that is where your wish comes in, after these six
years you will not only be granted immense magic power, beyond what any human
can dream of” X paused for dramatic effect “You
will also go back in time six years from the day that you summoned me.”
“So I'll...I'll go back to living with Adara?? Six years before those bastards
came?? She will be alive??” Akilah asked with excitement.
“Yes but only if you do your job properly for six
years.”
Excitement rushed through every fiber of Akilah's body 'This sounds like a
dream come true'.
“However, if you act up or do anything bad during that
time, best believe that I will add additional years to your work time.”
Just as fast as the excitement had entered her body it left, leaving a sinking
feeling in her gut.
“Additional years..?” Akilah asked
“Yes one additional year for each wrongdoing you commit”
X replied.
Akilah pleaded desperately “B-But that's too much, please at least reconsider
adding months instead of years”
*sigh* “I have already
been more generous towards you then any other human that has tried to make a
deal with me. The man before you got 99 years without the extra punishment
time, be grateful that you are not him”
'99 years...' Akilah thought 'I mean I’m at least better off than
him, but still...'.
“But this means that you can extend
my henchman work for as long as you like...” Akilah said.
“Yes...But I am pretty lenient since I am curious to
see how your story will unfold once you go back”
He said that but Akilah could not find it within herself to trust him.
Disappointment and despair was written all over Akilah’s face.
“What’s with that expression, I am being very
considerate towards you.”
**Silence**
“What, are you not going to say anything?”
Akilah honestly did not know what to say, “Thank you...I guess.”
“YOU GUESS?!?! YOU...” X yelled with annoyance “FINE! Fine have it your way, I will add months instead of
years.”
Akilah's eyes widened, she couldn't believe her ears.
“R-Really??” She managed to stammer out.
“Yes but in addition your work will be much tougher,
and you will have to work ten times harder.”
“IT'S FINE! I'LL WORK HARDER, I SWEAR!”
“Well that cheered you up rather quickly”
Akilah could not even disagree with him because the giant smile plastered on
her face, proved him right.
“Yes it did, I'm grateful” Akilah said.
“Well do not count your blessings just yet, we still
have to sign the contract.”
A knife and paper appeared in front of Akilah, “What am I supposed to do with
this?”
“You take the knife, cut your hand and let the blood
drip down on the paper, then the contract will officially be signed”
“It's there a ...I don't know, less painful way to do this”
“No. Now hurry up before I make you cut a finger as a punishment
for delaying the process”
Akilah did as she was told and signed the contract.
“Wait I forgot to ask you something. If I get more years added to my henchmen
work does that mean that I will travel back in time for the same amount too?”
“Well no, since we did not write that in the contract,
however many months added to your work will not affect your time travel.”
“Ahh, I should have asked about this before”
“Should have, would have, could have. Too late to think
about it now”
“Yeah” Akilah said while nodding her head.
“There's another thing I'm curious about” Akilah asked.
“What?” X replied.
“Does my work as a henchman revolve around me…killing people?”
“Well look at that” X snickered “You are not as dim-witted as I assumed. Hopefully, you are also
a fast learner.”
