The room was packed with people. They were all in fine silks and expensive jewelry. Millenis is known for its riches. 

Everyone was engrossed in conversation. Some groups have formed. The Rose Family has swarmed the queen. The Rose Family is one of the high houses. 

When a royal child needs a spouse, they usually look to the high houses first. When Prince Temari needed a wife, he found one with the Rose family. Celia Rose. 

Despite raising the queen, the Rose Family is not the most powerful among the noble families. That title belongs to The Family of Larkspur.  

The Family of Larkspur is known to be cunning, self-centered, and deveus. They are feared by many, even the other high houses. 

When the king started looking for a queen, the Family of Larkspur recommended a daughter from their house. The entire kingdom believed that she would be chosen. Why wouldn’t she? She was strong, intelligent, and beautiful. There was no doubt in anyone’s mind that Tamari would not choose Elizabeth to be his bride. 

But then, on his 18th birthday, he announced that he was going to take Celia Rose as his wife, and as his queen. 

The Family of Larkspur was enraged. They had a huge fit. They accused The Rose Family of being traitors in an attempt to stop the wedding. The incident only ended up embarrassing the Larkspur Family even more. 

The petty fit ended when Tamari’s father basically told them to shut up about it.
