They stood still, a distance away from each other, as the subject waited patiently, her small smile still in place. The team leader spoke first. “My name is Reinard, and this is my team. We are from the world wide S.I.I.O, Supe Investigation and Intelligence Organization. We have received reports that you are an undicumented supe. We’ll need to take you in for documentation and to keep you safe.” Reinard said his spiel and the subject remained unchanged in posture or expression. This was odd. For the most part, his little script received some sort of reaction. There was a moment of silence that had his second tensing. Then the subject spoke. “My name is Willow. I’d be happy to follow you, but I will not be contained. It is not in my nature and I do have things to attend to soon. I hope you understand.” Reinard was slightly taken aback and more suspicious than before. This was all far too easy. He nodded once to Willow, “I can promise nothing but that should be alright.” He then gestured to his second and said, “This is my second, Lokni. The others, you can meet later.” Willow nodded to Lokni and gestured to where the jet was parked in the unseeable distance, “Shall we?” Reinard narrowed his eyes to match those of Lokni, but just nodded. She gave an air that told Reinard she was a dangerous individual, but had not yet shown a single thing to indicate she had any sort of power at all. They had checked out the reports for authenticity before making the trip out here, about half an hour to the coast, and all had seemed genuine. Reinard's stress rose and he swore he could feel hairs turning grey.
Something I write in my free time. Chapters are very short and likely will stay that way.
S.H.I.E.L.D. kind of team but with a fantasy spin.
This special ops team gets a report of an undocumented supe and goes to investigate. What they find is a can of worms they didn't bargain for and a girl of oddities.
