Callum's POV
I look down at my paycheck with a small smile.
I had worked my ass off for the first time in three years and it was already paying off. 600 hundred, after taxes, and not counting tips, sounded pretty damn good to me for only two weeks of work.
"I got money," I say happily when I step into the apartment. "Who wants to come with me to open a bank account and spend it?"
"Can we get a movie while were there?" Ryder asked, never moving from his spot.
"I don't know. That's a Jax question."
Ryder looked up to Jax with the best pleading eyes he's ever made. Jax only creases his forehead, as if he's trying to work out the math in his head.
"We can but it has to be under 15 dollars," Jax says after a few minutes. "Are we waiting for Liam so we can get even more stuff or are we going to just go twice?"
"Liam's hanging out with his work friend tonight so we can probably just get going," Ryder says as he stood up.
I was honestly so proud of him.
He had been going for short walks every day since our date and he was getting so much better already. He didn't have to be dragged out of the house, he didn't flinch nearly as often now, and other men didn't seem to affect him nearly as much.
"Alright then, help me up," Jax said as he extended a hand to Ryder. Ryder only gave him a playful glare as he took his hand and attempted to pull him off the couch but Jax was fighting against him so Ryder ended up falling on Jax's chest, making Ryder pout while Jax laughs at him.
"This is really cute and all but we need to get to the bank before it closes for the day," I remind them, making both of them pout harder before getting up.
"The main thing this time is going to be a pot and pan, some food and some snacks, and Ryder's movie since we still need to put some money back for rent and phone bills and other expensive shit."
"That sounds like a plan to me," I say as I start writing the note for Liam. "You think we can get one of those white board calendar things? We could put all of our schedules on it so we don't forget anything like that."
"I don't think that would completely break the bank," Jax teased as he opened the door for Ryder.
"So theoretically, I can get three movies as long as they add up to 15," Ryder asked with his usual pleading look. He had been using it a lot here lately.
"As long as you don't go over 15, you can get as many movies as you want."
I had thought this was going to be a cute thing. The three of us buying home stuff together, being all cute and couple like, but Ryder and Jax fought almost the entire time with me having to be the deciding vote.
"We don't need purple pans," Jax groaned as Ryder put it in the part anyway.
"They cost the same as the regular ones and they look cute, of course we need them."
"We don't need cute pans Ryder. You cook with them, not show them off."
"And why can't we cook in style?"
"Babe pick a number between 1 and 10. If you get closer than Jax, you can have them." Jax glared at me for that but that's how the whole trip went until we got to the movies.
"Okay babe, go get your movies," Jax sighed as he leaned into me. Ryder took off without hesitation as I look over to Jax.
"Are you feeling okay," I ask as I pulled him into my chest. "You've been acting a little weird these past few days. Have you been sleeping okay?" Jax shrugged.
"I feel weird," he admits as his head falls on my shoulder.
"Are you getting sick on us," I ask as I put my hand to his forehead but he didn't have a fever.
"It's hard to explain. It doesn't feel like I'm sick but something feels wrong."
"Do we need to take you to a doctor or something?"
"Doctors freak me out," Jax said as he shook his head but I frown down at him, making it clear that his reason wasn't a good one. "If it doesn't blow over in a week I'll go."
"Three days," I bargain, just in case this is more urgent than he's letting on.
"Four then," he said with a small scowl as he leaned farther into my chest until Ryder came back over with three new movies in his hands.
"Okay I'm ready now," he said excitedly before marching off to the check out. Jax only gives him a smile as he follows behind them.
"How are we going to get all the bags home," Ryder asked after we had paid.
"Callum and I grab most of them and you get what's left," Jax teased as he leaned down to pick up a few bags.
"We're home," Ryder called out to Liam as soon as we got inside. "And we got new movies! I want to watch one while Jax makes dinner."
"Now how in the hell did I get stuck making dinner? I don't even eat it."
"Don't worry babe, I'll help you," I say as I start putting away everything we weren't going to use. "I hope you three are okay with spaghetti because that's all I can make."
"Liam, where are you at?" Ryder asked as he started walking around the apartment.
"Is he still not back yet?"
"I'll text him real quick," Jax says with a frown as he pulls his phone out.
"Tell him it's no rush, just checking in on him," I say, knowing Liam would feel bad if he thought we were waiting on him for something but Jax only hums as he continues to type.
"You think we should be worried about this new friend," Ryder asked with a small frown.
"Probably not," Jax brushed off with a smile. "He's finally talking to someone other than us since camp. I'm going to call it a small miracle." He said as he put his phone on the counter and went back to help me cook diner until his phone went off again.
"What did he say," Jax asked he strained the pasta.
"He's on the way. Should only be a few more minutes."
"Go ahead and pick which movie, we should be ready to eat soon."
Only a few minutes later we were all sitting on the couch before Jax switched to Carter just as the movie started to play.
"I'm home," Liam said as soon as he walked in. "Sorry I'm late. We got caught up in some things." He said as he went straight to the kitchen.
"You must really like him," Ryder noted skeptically. "You never get 'caught up' with people this early." Liam didn't miss a beat though, meaning he wasn't being suspicious about anything. If he were lying he would have had to think of a lie first.
"He's a cool dude but I don't see me dating him, if that's what you mean. He's too old."
"How old," Carter piped with a small glare.
"25. Not too old but too old to date." Carter huffed as he went back to watching the movie.
"Still, you seem to like him a lot as just a friend," Ryder said as Liam sat down with us on the couch.
"Do you want me to stop hanging out with him or something?"
"No, I was just wondering. You haven't told us anything about him. It's just kind of weird." Liam frowned at that as he stared at the TV, clearly cutting off the conversation.
I catch Carter looking at me with a raised eyebrow but I only shake my head.
I could tell Liam was pissed off enough about it already. If I said anything he would only blow up at as so waiting until tomorrow would be the best.
"Well I'm glad you're home," Carter said with a smirk as he leaned into me. "Now I don't have to do the dishes."
