Thrusting her fist forward, Sadi sent the sand bag flying across the gym, causing several of the others that were currently training there to look to her. She just stayed there for a moment, her fist forward and her stance aggressive. She was exhausted and it showed. Just today alone, she had spent close to six hours in the gym training.
Eventually, having become worried, one of the other people in the gym walked over to the panting commander, despite the warning of his friends. “Uh, Commander Sadi, I was-” Before he could finish speaking, she turned and thrust her fist in to him before backing up and shaking her head, not phased by the injured boy sprawled out across the gym.
Sadi made her way across the gym to where the sand bag had landed and picked it up. She carried it back to it’s resting spot and reconnected it to the chain. With that out of the way, she took a deep breath and deactivated her cursed eye, the sparking flames that had previously been covering her fading. In their absence, small burns had formed, but Sadi paid it no mind, knowing that, in time, they would heal.
With her cursed eye inactive, she took a few deep breaths and held her hands out, a seal forming underneath her a strange and powerful pressure began to extend outwards, radiating from Sadi. She closed her eyes and focused, pinpointing the different pools of essence inside of her body before focusing on one, the pool of essence which resided inside of her eyes. While not the biggest, it felt different to the others, so Sadi had concluded that they were where the strange power, which she had come to refer to as primal essence, dwelled. The reason it seemed easier to call on when her cursed eye was active was because it was linked to that pool of essence in her eyes. Usually, the strongest region of strength for a darkness apprentice was the one inside of their heart, but for Sadi, that wasn’t the case, which is what had initially tipped her off to the abnormality.
Sadi had been experience difficulties with accessing her primal essence reservoir without her cursed eye active and it frustrated her, but she had the theory that primal essence was somehow locked behind emotion, strong emotion at that, given the way that it only manifested when her cursed eye was active, when she was being consumed by rage. The problem was that in that state, she had far less control and if she wanted to accomplish her plan, she would need to be able to access it at any time. Sadi was fairly certain that, if she could open up the access to her primal essence in her eyes, then it would begin to occur everywhere else in her body and if it didn’t, she would learn to force it to.
So far, Sadi had been working at the problem for three months and she’d made very little progress, but a more drastic approach had come to mind for her. With her eyes closed, she was able to focus on the essence flowing through her body the clearest and so, she used the seal underneath her to begin to shift some of the essence in her body. She passed it through from her hands up in to the essence pool in her eyes and began to try and quite literally sharpen the edges of the essence so that it could tear apart the barrier surrounding the primal essence.
The essence from her hands didn’t seem to be enough, so she moved to the essence in her feet, passing it through her body, feeling as more part of her body began to go cold. Keeping essence from specific regions of the body for an extended period of time was not at all healthy for her, but she was so close, she could literally feel the pressure that she was putting on the barrier to her primal essence.
Even with the hands and feet completely used, the barrier still wasn’t breaking, so it was time for the last pool. At this point, she would only be able to sustain it for at most a minute, but she was hoping that’s all she would need. Moving the essence from her heart and in to her eyes, sharpening and pressing it directly against the barrier along with all of her other essence. Her body continued to grow colder and colder, the color fading as her heart beat got slower. Sadi was gasping for air when suddenly she felt it, there was a small prick followed by a tear and then suddenly, essence flooded back through her body all at once, causing immense amounts of pressure to explode out from her body.
Sadi collapsed to the ground, gasping and panting, but smiling as she could feel the power that was now flowing through her body, in every single one of her body’s essence pools, there was the presence of primal essence and the barrier around the primal essence in her eyes had been completely destroyed.
As she finally made her way to her feet as her body regained all of its life, she smiled and created another massive seal underneath herself with caused everyone in the room’s vision to be consumed by pure darkness. Screams, whimpers and panting all broke out across the room as everyone was crippled by the effects of Sadi’s primal power. Once she was satisfied with her little test run, she released the seal and everyone began to regain their composure. Sadi simply stood there in the center of the room, smiling maniacally at the slowly fading sparking flames.
“I think I’m going to have a lot of fun with this…”
