Beneath their heads stood the tallest tree in the school. Its roots are slowly degrading the cohesion of the stone bleachers they sat on.
Moss deeply engraved all around. An inseparable pair sat happily laughing.
“It’s my turn to ask the question,” Miller said proudly.
“Is it the one about superpowers?” Olivia had heard that question at least a hundred times already.
“But for real what is it? The superpower you want to have!” He persisted in asking.
“Flying, you boring hoe! You changed yours already didn't you?” She giggled.
“I will not comment on that first part. However, about that question… this time I would like to read minds.” His tone was strangely melancholic and unfitting for the answer.
Olivia ignored the meaning of his slightly turned eyebrows.
Along... with the meaning of his answer.
“Now it’s my turn to ask a question!” Olivia exclaimed.
“Go ahead. It’s the last one, okay?” he sweetly asked her.
That sweet tone and dedication he had only given her until then.
That made her like him even more.
“What if I told you I liked you?” Olivia asked as she fiddled with her necklace.
Her love was overflowing, a warm feeling she could not contain inside her heart.
From the way, he typed her name on his new calculator just for fun. To the way, he treated her so carefully like an expensive vase at times. Even when he told her she was annoying.
Olivia still couldn't describe how much he meant to her in a few words.
What if it all escaped? Oh god, how hard had she tried to conceal it!
“That would never happen!” he chuckled, almost choking on his words.
“Right! You know me well, after all.” she glanced at her feet.
He didn’t know her well at all.
