“Hello, Mr.Akabane. Will you locate the Mori clan group's whereabouts and send them over to me?” “Of Course dear, any specific reason?” “I have unfinished business with Mori clan's son and I'd like to finish it.” “Alright, I'll run it through the main frame and send it over to you as soon as possible.” “Thank you Mr.Akabane.” I said as I hung up. Now all I have to do is wait. It's times like these I'm happy that I pick and choose when to cut people off and when to let them stick around.
I checked into a hotel and looked over the plane schedule to see if he could have gone back to Tokyo. There were no scheduled flights or private flights going in that direction. After Mr. Akabane sent me Mori’s location, I decided to get some sleep.
The next morning I got in my car and drove over to the office building that Mori had been working out of. “Well I guess I’ll just have to wing it.” I said to myself before getting out of the car. I walked into the building and after convincing the girl at the front desk to buzz me up, I devised a game plan in the elevator. I got up to his office and just barged in. “Hello old friend.” I said as I walked in closing the door behind me. “Well look what the cat dragged in.” He said as he looked up from the papers on his desk. “Long time no see.” I said sitting down in the chair in front of his desk.
“What do you want?” He asked to get it. “Well to put it frankly , I want Riku back.” He scoffed at my request. “Not gonna happen to the doll face.” He said as he looked back down at the papers on his desk. “Let me rephrase that.” I said as I got up from the chair, pulling my gun on him. “Give me Riku back or I will kill you then go find him myself.” He stood up and paused for a moment and then swiftly pulled his gun on me. “Or I could shoot you and Keep Riku.” He said, chuckling a bit.
The sound of the door opening startled me as we both turned our attention to the secretary entering the room. She looked absolutely terrified when she walked in and saw us just aimlessly staring each other down at gunpoint. “Call security and get her out of my office.” He said as the woman turned around and ran off. “You still can't handle things yourself, always calling for backup. I see nothing has changed.” I said putting my gun away walking towards the door as his security guys walked in. One attempted to grab my arm and escort me out when I pushed his arm away. “Touch me and I'll be the last thing you ever see.” I said walking out of the office.
I left the building and got back in my car. I may seem defeated but that was just the first step. I knew that if Mori wanted Riku as an asset he wouldn't have hurt him or resorted to torture tactics. Probably threats. I drove over to his house and decided to poke around a bit. I checked the perimeter and went to move inside. If Riku was with More this is definitely where he was keeping him, I was certain of that. I picked the lock and went in, gun drawn of course. I was about half way through the first floor when I heard a shuffling sound around the corner.
I took a deep breath and turned around the corner. I was shocked when the person standing before me was Riku. We were both pointing guns at each other and it was a little too cinematic for me. A wave of relief washed over me as our eyes met, I was so mad and so relieved at the same time. We both rushed at each other embracing in a hug. “I am so glad you're alive” I said as he put me back on the ground, I took a step back. “Now I can kill you!” My voice got a little loud as I started beating him. It was seemingly effective considering if I had actually tried I might have really killed him. I tired out and he grabbed my hands, eventually I stopped beating his chest. “You're crazy, you know that?” “So I've been told.” Before I could say anything else he pulled into another hug, his arms slid around my back pulling me a little closer than I expected.
His embrace was warm and reassuring. When he finally let go it was a little awkward. “God I missed you.” He said staring into my eyes I looked at him and felt relieved as I slapped him as hard as I could. A loud crack echoed through the room and he was looking at the wall. He pulled his hand up to the side of his face and he turned back towards me with a look of disbelief. “First of all, OW! Second of all, what was that for?” He asked as he moved his hand back to his side. “That was for getting kidnapped.” I said as I examined my hand, it was a little sore from the force behind that slap. “Yeah I- I guess I kind of deserve that.” He said. We both laughed a bit and walked outside.
“We should get going before Mori realizes I'm here.” I said walking towards the car. “Yeah that's not a good idea, he'll be mad when he gets back and I'm not here.” He said the following behind me. “I'm gonna need more details later but what does he want with you?” “Asenchally he wanted me to sign the company over then he was gonna send a ransom for 2.5 million to you.” He said as we both got in the car. “Oh well that wouldn't have worked.” He looked over at me confused and intrigued. “You're not worth 2.5 million.” I said blankly and started driving. He looked worried and a little panicked. “Wait, you don't actually mean that, right?” He asked, sounding concerned. “Do I look like I meant it, I came out here to get your ass didn't I?” “Fair point.” I drove to the airport and made a few arrangements to get us back to Tokyo.
I was relieved he was safe but there was something more to it that he wasn't telling me. I decided not to pry just yet. I'll send some guys over to visit Mori to give him a taste of his own medicine I thought. I made a few calls after we got back. I had sent everyone who wasn't an essential personal home so there wouldn't be any speculation about Rikus' recent whereabouts.
“Well I'm gonna go get something to eat.” He said as he satrted walking off towards the kitchen. I grabbed his hand and started pulling him down the hall. “No your gonna come to my office and figure out how were gonna cover this up.” He laughed a little “Last time I checked there wasn't a we oh dear wife of mine!” I could hear the amusement in his voice and it wasn't helping. “Shut up!” I said pulling him into my office. “So bossy.”
It took like 10 minutes for me to get him to focus. “We have to put out some sort of statement or announcement.” I said, trying to figure out how we could cover this up. “Let's have a ball.” He said spinning around in my chair. “Yes, very funny now, please contribute a little.” “No I'm serious, let's have a heaven and hell ball. A flashy event to cover up the face that I was-” “Abducted and held hostage against your will?” I interrupted. “I was going to say absent but that works too.” “That's actually not a terrible idea.” And with that we started planning, and by we I mean I planned and he called is taylor to have a custom suit made.
