Bree watched in silence as an older woman entered the room. She was concerned over the group, saying something about them being found unconscious on their way to school.
Like they would be doing something so mundane.
The woman’s main focus was on Phoena, Kieran and Galen, barely sparing Bree a glance. Clearly this wasn’t the first time that the body had been in… unsatisfactory… circumstances.
She longed for her knives and axe and was pleasantly surprised to recognise that whatever she had taken the place of had favoured the smaller bladed weapons.
Karla. She had been addressed as Karla. A girl with similar interests to herself. The form she had taken seemed to be a bit younger than she truly was – she almost laughed, the others had long since forgotten she was the eldest and this would only make it harder.
Karla. Lilac. Blake. Jason. Brandan. Siblings was her guess due to their similar appearances. It was strange how different these new forms were.
Lilac did not have the bright colouration of Phoena, wearing glasses that they never would have been caught dead in. Glasses had only ever obscured their abilities.
Blake was shorter than Kieran was, something she knew would annoy her partner. Thinking of which made her frown. If these bodies were indeed related…
Jason looked more stressed than Galen ever did, even with her bad habit of walking into enemy lines on her own screaming “Who’s ready to die!”. The twitching of his feet was never one of Galen’s habits.
Brandan didn’t have the muscles of Sedge, and was missing the edge that the swordsman’s body always held. Sedge had always been ready to draw his sword in an instant, his new body stiff when forced into the same position.
Phoena the Mage. Bree the Barbarian. Galen the Healer. Sedge the Swordsman. Kieran the Rogue. The greatest heroes the land has ever seen.
Lilac the wallflower. Karla the brawler. Jason the studious. Brandan the jock. Blake the gardener. Siblings who stand out in their differences.
Their paths were never meant to cross, bound in separate worlds. Until something went wrong and the heroes and siblings switched places. They long to go home but they don't know how.
