Nollie and Evan were sitting in front of their "not anymore" flat questioning their life and how they made it to this point. It's not the first time for either of them to be without a house for the night, but damn, this flat was their last safety boat and it just sinked right before their eyes.
"You think we can sneak back in tonight ?" Nollie asked without looking at Evan, too preoccupied looking at the landlord flipping them off at the window of the Rat Kingdom.
"Yeah, no i don't think that's gonna be possible, look at him ! He's probably gonna sleep at the window just in case."
Evan sighed and looked around him, searching better options than sleeping outside tonight, not really finding anything.
"You think we can call your parents ?" She said while flipping off the old man back.
Evan looked at Nollie with a dead face and waited for her to look at him, when she did he just kept glaring.
"Yeah ok that's not a good idea." she said after registering what she asked him.
They sighed and started walking at a slow pace to the center of the city.
"So, you have any ideas ?"
"Man, my brain is not processing what's happening, I just woke up" she slurred, mind still heavy from sleep.
Evan looked at his feet while walking, fiddling with his burrito, long cold and forgotten, not having the appetite to eat it now.
"He didn't even let me take my morning coffee the bastard !" Evan was half listening to Nollie's complaints. He was way too stressed out to pay attention to anything, his mind was fuming for an idea of what to do next. They just lost their home, and frankly, he was not gonna sleep outside, vulnerable to anyone in this big city.
... maybe he should call his parents..
Evan dismissed the thought seconds after it appeared in his mind. That was not gonna happen. He glanced at Nollie who was still complaining. She didn't seem very stressed. Did she have a friend that maybe they could go to ? Evan asked her that very same thought.
"You have a friend where we can crash at tonight ?" He said with a little hope in his voice. She stopped talking and looked at him in the eyes.
"Bro you're the only person I know in this shit city." Yeah. Evan didn't know why he had asked. It has been a year that they had been living together and neither of them had made friends. He thought that was pretty pathetic of them but didn't say it aloud.
They had reached the center of the city and seated themselves on a bench. Looks like it was gonna be their bed tonight after all.
A duo of friends, Nollie, a super lesbian and Evan, a chaotic gay, manage to clandestinely ride a Ferry to somewhere in an attempt to start a new life away from their suffocating city.
But sadly, when a murder occurs on the Ferry and they find themselves prime suspects in the eccentric detectives Willow and Julien's case, they question all of the choices that have led to this.
