The
humanoid machine
was rather complacent with my poking and prodding of it. I could hear
the whirling of servos or the alien equivalent of them every time I
moved something. Because
of this, I doubted I could have moved anything if it didn’t want me
to.
The only real reaction I ever got
from it a was occasional shift to keep its balance whenever I pushed
or pulled on it.
Once I was done looking at it, I
looked down on
the ground for the communicator to see if I could contact the Doc
about how to operate it. What I found, however, was a scorched
handful of metal and fragile broken tech between the machine’s
feet. I
figured it got damaged while the robot was materializing and gathered
up the pieces.
I put them in my pocket for the time being and look up at the
robot.
“Well, I was going to ask the Doc on
how you work but I guess I really am on my own right now. Since he
did compare you to a Gundam when I told him about them, I think it’s
safe to say that I need to get inside of you somehow. The question
is, how do I get you to open-Oh!” I exclaimed as the robot suddenly
started to move and I scrambled back a few steps to give it room.
The word ‘open’ must have been some kind of cue
word for it as it knelt down on one knee and
leaned foreward in
front of me. A moment later, there was a hiss as some kind of seal
was released and seam going down its ‘backbone’ appeared. It
branched out from there and split the robot’s back into several
parts that moved to
the sides
to grant access
to
the inside.
