Chapter Six: Blue
When the train ride ended Draco left the boiler room and headed off on a boat with a few random others. He stayed quiet as they paddled and they were led into a dark room, waiting to be sorted. He stood there and saw that Natsuki, Gale, Brie, and Emilia were all standing together, laughing about something. He lowered his head and looked for Crabbe and Goyle. He’d never really known what to say to them, but they’d do whatever he’d tell them to.
That’s when the hat started to sing. He looked over to Gale who was cracking up in the corner. Finally, it ended. This is fine. Now I can do what I was meant to do in life. Be a Slytherin. Make your parents proud.
“Abstance, Carla.” A pale girl with brown hair walked up and the hat shouted, “RAVENCLAW!”
“Alvarado, Emilia.” Emilia walked up. The girl who’d talked to him in the boiler room. Slytherin, Slytherin- “HUFFLEPUFF!” Draco sighed. It was bound to happen.
A few people went before, “Crowe, Gale.” Gale walked up grinning and pulled the hat over his head. It hesitated for a moment before yelling, “SLYTHERIN!” Draco looked down and smiled.
A girl named Khalliun Batbayer was sorted into Ravenclaw, and a few more people went. “Granger, Hermione,” A black girl with really thick curly hair nervously walked onto the stage. “GRYFFINDOR!”
Oh, Gryffindor.
When “Malfoy, Draco” was called Draco composed himself and strutted up to the stage. He looked down to the Slytherin table that he would soon be joining. McGonagall placed the hat on his head. Not very wise or intelligent. Not very ambitious or cunning. Draco’s heart lurched. Not very brave at all. You are loyal to your parents. “HUFFLEPUFF!” The sorting hat roared.
Draco sat there for a moment. “Shit.”
