“Lunch today is a chicken patty, green beans, and a fruit cocktail. Alternative is a ham sandwich.” A bored voice comes through the speakers.
“Ugh! Again? Didn’t we just have chicken patty’s on Tuesday?” Paisley complained, leaning against her locker.
Hannah rolled her eyes, “You could just get the alternative, you know?”
“The slimy ham sandwich? No thanks. You don’t know what school lunch is like, you pack your lunch everyday.”
“Chicken patty isn’t so bad, at least it isn’t the green mac and cheese.” Noah cut in.
Paisley groaned, “Isn’t Friday supposed to be pizza day?”
Noah chuckled, “Maybe at human school. Here we’re lucky if our food isn’t all magic. I’m pretty sure the lunch ladies just spell our food in, rather than make it themselves.”
“Well, how hard is it to spell in a pizza every once and awhile!?” Paisley shouts. The entire hallway goes silent as everyone stares at the trio.
“Take a picture, it’ll last longer!” Hannah shouts to the students staring at them, “jeeze, the girl just wants a pizza.”
The bell rings. The halls fill with students rushing to class.
“Ugh, I guess I’ll see you guys later. I wish we had the same classes. I don’t understand why they separate us.” Noah grumbled.
“I don’t know. Maybe because we can do healing magic and you can’t?” Hannah motioned to Paisley.
Noah wined, “Why did I have to be born a Willow?”
Hannah rolled her eyes for the second time. She grabbed Paisley by the arm and led her away, leaving Noah alone in the mostly empty hallway.
Noah sighed. He turned around and started walking to his own class.
