What a lovely night to die.
He thought to himself, staring up at the moon and stars. No clouds obscured his view of the night sky and if he was willing to have a little belief, he could even swear he saw more stars than usual.
I wonder what my mother will think? Her son, dead in a back alley. Hidden away behind some old crates. My brother would laugh. How far have I fallen?
He could hear footsteps as people walked past his hiding place. Not one had noticed his shoe sticking out from behind a box.
I should’ve known better than to follow a pretty face out of a club – hell I shouldn’t have been there in the first place.
He didn’t notice as the wound on his neck stopped bleeding, licking his lips absentmindedly as the injury began to heal until not even a scar was left.
What was she on anyway to attack me like that? It can’t be normal to try and rip someone’s throat out with your teeth.
Footsteps again. This time they were louder, boots actually coming in his direction.
“Oh, little one,” someone crooned, their voice
washing over him. “I’ll save you from your mistake.”
