She could have ignored it when her book began flashing. She could have returned to the people she had been hanging out with. But she would be lying if she said that her entire life wasn’t built on adventure.
Directions appeared on the page, leading her first to a teenage boy dying in a back alley. She watched him at first, curious as to why she was led to him. A smile took over her face as his wounds healed before her very eyes.
“Oh, little one,” she crooned, already reaching out towards him. “I’ll save you from your mistake.”
She had only managed to get him into her new apartment when the book flashed again. Someone had set off one of her traps.
“Hmm? Who’d be out there?” she said to herself as she read the location, shrugging to herself before heading off.
There was small girl, curled up asleep in a bush.
“How interesting.” She said as the girl’s form seemed to flicker. “It won’t hurt to pick up another one.”
