Chapter 1:  Its been three years

It was an usual Monday morning, the table near the window brightened up as the sun raised up. The birds chirping was heard clearly. The curtains of the room remained closed . the huge bed in the room was surrounded by big and soft pillows. Astrid throws off the blanket covering her face and rushed to pick up the phone which was vibrating. It was obvious that it was Astrid’s mum, Mrs stark the co-founder of the stark trade and manufacturing company. She took the call and went near the windows, sliding the curtains away, with the fresh morning breeze on her face.

“morning baby”

 “morning mom”

“todays is your grannies...death anniversary remember?”

“ yeah mom, I do remember it “

“Its been three years since your granny left us “ said Mrs Stark with a great sigh.

“ really mom? Just now I woke up and this is the first thing you want me to hear?, you know it was realy hard for me ever since granny died”

Astrid puffed in anger.

“ I know sweetie , It was your granny who raised you since  you were a child ,In fact she raised all the three of you. So that’s why I wanted to invite you to the family dinner tonight . will you attend it at least this year? I am making her favourite stew!”

“ I’ll try mom”

“ okay dear, see you tonight”

“ okay mom love you”

~The call cuts

Astrid sits on the bed with a deep sigh, “ she knows how tough its for me to go there, I  don’t want to cry every time they talk about her and create a scene. In fact since mom and dad had these business , its granny who was both my mom and dad. I know that she would never want me to cry. She didn’t cry when grand pa died, she was so brave”. Astrid covered her face with both her hand. “ this time it will be different” said Astrid as she raised her head and slapped her face gently.

“ I am never going to let this day get ruined just the way I did for the past three years. I am going to be happy today. At least for her”.
