Chapter 4:

The next day at school, Anna and Devin started talking so much and becoming even closer to each other and having so much fun. “Hey you want to do something later, you-, you know, like maybe hangout after school?” Anna really wanted to but knew that she had to go to work since she had skipped it yesterday.“I’m sorry I can't. I have work and I have to go today. I skipped it yesterday so it won’t be good for me to skip it today, sorry.” Anna said. “Oh, that’s fine we can hangout later” Devin said. After that they both stayed silent the whole school day.
They both left after school and Anna had left for work. When she entered, she heard a voice from behind her, “Anna, the manager is calling you”. She was scared “why is he calling me? Did I do something wrong?”. When she entered the office, the manager was sitting there looking angry. “Is there something wrong Mr. Chon?, I heard you called me.”Yes, well it looks like you did not come to work yesterday isn’t that right, Anna?.” her manager said. “Yeah well, I-”. Her boss wouldn’t listen a bit. “I don’t care, you come here to do work so do it or you won’t get paid. Do this again and I will fire you. Do you understand?” Anna had tears in her eyes “ye-yes, I understand I will come each day from now on, I am so sorry.”. She bursted into tears as she ran out the door. Everyone had been looking at Anna because she was crying. She immediately went to the back to wipe her tears, then started working so she wouldn't be scolded or fired. Anna really needed her job because without it she wouldn’t survive. She couldn't pay rent, buy food, pay bills or anything. She didn't want to risk anything so she said to herself “From today on I will always come to work and do everything my boss says”.
Once she was done working she came out and saw Devin. Devin had asked “What are you doing here, don’t you have work?” Anna said “yeah well this is where I work, what about you, why are you here?” “Well it’s a coincidence that this is my dad’s place,” said Devin. Anna was so shocked and thought that Devin and his father were completely different people. “Anyways, why are you here so late?” Devin said, “Oh well I have too because I need to work.” Anna said. “Well I can ask my dad to give you a break and not let you work for so long, how about that, would that be nice?.” “Oh, it’s fine, I really don’t need it but thanks anyways” Anna said, then she left with a tired look on her face. “I wonder what is going through her mind, she seemed awfully strange,” Devin said as they both left the opposite ways.
