Momo Yaoyorozu, the rich girl, why does bother to help a stranger?. I am intrigued to know, what does happen inside her head? Why does she remain worried about me? I am only a shell.
—What are you doing here? –I say
—I was just worried about how you were doing.
Momo's head is bandaged; you don't have to be a genius to know it was my fault, and she is here, in front of me and with a genuine expression of concern, my first and last friend.
—Go home, Miss Yaoyorozu, you don't have anything to do here anymore –say eraser head
I can't even look at her eyes, not after I've hurt her.
—Wait, Aizawa sensei, it wasn't his fault.
—Don't intervene, this has already been solved.
—But...
And so, from one moment to the next I have nothing and nobody with me. I am thrown into a small cell with a reinforced door that only has a small rectangle window that lets in a little light; I have no other choice but to stay in a corner to rot alone.
With difficulty, I managed to fall asleep, but a strange current of air wakes me up, sitting on the edge of my bed there is a man, he is thin and his silvery hair is tangled. Am I still dreaming?
—Who are you and what are you doing in my cell?
The man stays silent for a moment, he seems to be ignoring me, but he is silent until the guards patrolling outside my door leave.
—My name is Shigaraki Tomura, I am the leader of a small organization called the League of Villains and I come to talk to you, Dian Izumi.
I should be terrified, the leader of the League of Villains himself stood before me, but I feel no fear, only a small curiosity.
—What do you come here to do? I imagine the leader of such an organization must be very busy.
—That's right, but you're important to us. I saw your potential, all the power you repress within you; you were given two options, to be a hero or prison, but I come to propose a third, to join me.
A villain. The other side of the coin. Me a villain?
—Why should I join you and your league, I have nothing anymore; this is where I belong.
—That's what they want you to think. Heroes want you to feel guilty about what happened to your sister in order to evade their responsibility, no hero saved your sister. They only care about looking good in front of the camera. They only care about their popularity, that's why I want to change society and show that heroes are unnecessary.
—Tomura extends his hand towards me, but I am not yet convinced; before my expression of uncertainty, he lowers his hand and pronounces a phrase that rumbles in my head.
—Don't worry, I'm here for you. I'll come back tomorrow, think about my offer.
Tomura disappears absorbed by a strange purple cloud; everything is so surreal, I simply try to sleep again; that night I dreamt of my sisters’ antemortem face, over and over again, making Tomura's words more and more meaningful.
—Wake up lazy, you've got a visitor –a guard wake me up.
I don't know what time it is, but the guard opens the door of my cell, blinding me with the light of the corridor. I don't attach much importance to the visit, I'm sure it's someone who also wants me to join his band.
—Good morning Dian, I brought you some cookies that I prepared.
Momo is my visitor, why does she keep coming even though, I told her to leave me alone.
—I told you, Miss Yaoyorozu, we don’t have any business, so you can go.
—Of course, we have, and call me Momo. Aizawa Sensei asked you to join the AU, why did you turn down the offer? I know you're not interested in being a hero, but you have a lot of potentials.
I still can't see her eyes; this talk reminds me of those I used to have with my sister.
—You know something Momo, for as long as I can remember I have lived with my sister in that flower shop, she raised me since I was a child and everything I learned was thanks to her, however, she died and the flower shop is no longer there, I no longer have anything.
—That's why you should come to the academy, for a new beginning.
—And be a hero? like Endeavor or All Might.
Hearing the word hero makes me sick.
—My sister trusted that heroes were the mainstay of justice — all my frustration begins to come out and my voice cries out for its own — but when she needed them the most they let her die.”
Tomura's words sound again in my mind. Momo, you are the only one who still listens to me. I will tell you by looking into your eyes.
—No hero saved my sister, they only care about looking good in front of the camera, they only care about their popularity, that's why I want to change society and show that heroes are unnecessary.
Momo is surprised, it's normal, I have just repudiated and rejected everything she believes in and trusts, yet it's what I think. Tomura opened my eyes and showed me something that nobody wants to accept.
—If you have nothing else to say, I'm going back to my cell.
I want to go back to my dark, cozy hole, but Momo won't give up, won't let me go. She takes my hand and keeps me from going.
—I know you're upset, sad and angry about what happened. I can't imagine how painful it must be for you, but I'm sure your sister wouldn't want you to think that way.
My sister wouldn't want me to take this path, but it's too late to change. I show Momo my gratitude to her with a slight bow.
—Thank you for being by my side Momo Yaoyorozu.
This is the last chance I will ever have to say thank you for listening to me because I already decided. Heroes are not what they appear and if to show the falsehood of a hero to society I must become a villain, so be it. Today I will escape with you Tomura and use the cry of the people to calm my pain. Show me that your words are not false.
Don't worry, I'm here for you.
