“Then
does that mean you can just directly alter what I can see?”
“It
does indeed but it is difficult to do anything major.”
He replied.
“Can you at least let me see the gauges
and stuff we had added? I want to keep
an eye on them while we continue to the compound. Also add your self
assessment
so I can study it and have a better idea of what
you can do.” I told him.
“Understood.”
Samson said as he put the aforementioned items into view. “I
have a few routes in mind if you wish
to compare them.”
“No, just give me
the energy comparison between the most direct route and the most
energy efficient one.” I told him.
“Baring
any unforeseen mishaps or
required detours,
the difference between
the two is
negligible.” Samson answered.
“Hmm… Go with the
fastest route then.” I said after checking my assimilation level
and his remaining power. My assimilation was around 55% now while his
had dropped to around 26-25%.
“Will
do.” He replied before having us dash across the roof
of the building before launching us from the ledge.
We needed the extra velocity as there was a wide, two lane, main road
separating the building we had been on from the next one in his
planned route. I knew that he probably knew what he was doing and
that a fall from this height probably wouldn’t have hurt me while
was wearing Samson. Still, that knowledge didn’t keep me from
screaming like a little girl as the reptilian part of my brain gave
me a sudden jolt of adrenaline.
“Tomas!?
Are you alright!?” Samson asked with alarm after we had
landed.
“I will be. Just give me a sec. I was not
expecting that.” I replied, my heart still thudding in my chest.
