When I woke up the next morning Riku wasn't at breakfast. I didn't see him for the first half of the day but I knew he was still on the main estate meaning he was actively avoiding me. I don't know if I should be happy he didn't leave or if I should be upset that he's avoiding me. I had a few meetings and had dinner, I skipped lunch so he could eat out in the open instead of in whatever hobbit whole he was hiding.
It was like that everyday for the next week. Our only means of communication was to post it on a document saying sign these. It was about around 4pm and I was in my office finishing up the bills for this month when I heard a crash down the hall. It was loud and a bit startling. I didn't think much of it until my office door flew open and I walked around Makoto. “Where's my money?” He asked loudly as he walked over to my desk. “What money?” I asked not to look up from my paperwork. “The money you got from my estate.” He yelled, slamming his hand down on my desk. It was loud and echoed down the hall. I turned towards him, still looking unfazed by his tantrum. “I don't have your money, however if you're referring to my money I got from liquidating my assets that were being used by you, then yes I have that money.” I said, crossing my legs looking at him fuming.
It was harmless until his dumb ass pulled a gun on me. I had one of mine in my desk drawer but I wasn't sitting close enough to my desk to grab it without him noticing. “Now where's my money?” He asked again. My security ran into my office seeing me at gunpoint. They all drew their weapons on him. “Anyone who comes even remotely close she's done.” He said to the men in the room. I looked around and assessed the situation and told my guys to stand down. “Well all you had to say was please. I'll see if I can make some accommodations.” I said turning back to my computer.
I opened up an emergency message to Riku saying 912 my office, armed, Makoto. 912 was our special code for more urgent than 911. I sent it and assumed he'd be in in a moment if he'd even open it. I assumed he would consider that the emergency messages have a different presentation than the personal and business ones. I messed around on my computer for a bit longer sending out the order to lock down the estate and do a perimeter sweep as well as the interior aside from my office.
“Alwright, I sent you a generous amount. Does 6 zeros please you?” I asked moving away from my computer. “I think I'm gonna need that doubled.” He said still not satisfied. I saw Riku step around the door behind him as I turned back to my computer. Riku kicked out his back leg causing him to fall to the floor. Riku took special pleasure in kicking him in the face before kicking his gun across the room. I had grabbed mine from my desk and pulled in on him, as well as Riku holding one to his back.
My security grabbed him and before they dragged him off I took the liberty of slugging him with my gun. “That is for ruining my party.” I said in his face, and then I shot him in the foot. “And that my dear is for stomping in here like you don't know who you're messing with.” He was screaming in pain and there was blood pooling around his feet. I then shot him in the knee on his other leg. “And that's for getting blood on my floor.” I said I was satisfied with my punishment. “Now somebody take him to the hospital, get him out of my office, and somebody clean this up.” I said as they dragged him out and I walked out as well to give them room to clean.
I heard Riku laugh as he exited my office behind me. “Thanks for the help.” I said as we walked out to the garden. “Thanks for shooting him twice.” He said laughing a bit more. I sat on the bench and he stood against the wall back by the door watching like he always did when we went out ther. “I- I missed this.” I said as I turned my head to face him. “Yeah, me too.” He said still keeping his distance. “Can we just talk about it?” I asked looking back a bit further. “I- I can't, I'm sorry.” He said pushing off the wall walking back inside. “Riku.” “No.” He said retreating back to his office.
