Nobody Loves Me BL OMEGAVERSE

Jax

Jax

Jul 09, 2021

It’s finally Monday, I spent all weekend wishing for the week to hurry up and start. I couldn’t wait to see Sean, I know that I told him that I would give him time to think it over and I won't pressure him. I plan on keeping my word but I really want to see him, if only for a second. The thing is now that I have finally spoken to him and that I got to be so close to him without him running away. Jeremiah and I want more. We crave more.

It was already lunch and I still hadn’t even caught a sight of him yet. Mitchell keeps making jokes about my situation. He even said that I was like a whipped puppy now that Sean gave me a little attention. I’m not ashamed of being a whipped puppy as long as it’s for my mate, ofcourse. “Look, there’s your mate.” Sara says while pointing in the direction of the main door to the cafeteria. I follow her finger and she’s right, Sean is definitely there but he isn't alone. Aside from Jasmine, Micah and Gram who are two of the biggest jerks in school. They are the ones who used to throw my name into anything to get them out of trouble. Thankfully they haven’t used me or my name to get out of anything for the past few years. That I know of that is.

I kept my eyes glued to Sean as he made his way away from the two with a huff. He looked frustrated. I wonder what those assholes said to him. “Hey my friend. Calm down. You’re growling pretty loud and people are beginning to stare.”

Mitchell says while bumping his shoulder with mine. Crap, I didn't realize that I was growling out loud. Taking a quick look around me, I see a few scared eyes staring back at me. “Sorry.” I say loud enough for them to hear me.

‘Jeremiah, please calm down.’

‘Protect mate!’ He growled back at me.

I scan the cafeteria until I find him again. This time he is at the vending machine and only Jasmine is with him. Thank Goddess for that because it gets Jeremiah to calm down a bit.

“Hey Jax, do you mind if I sit with you?” Looking up at the person who spoke, I realize that it’s Carmin Delano. She was one of the juniors who liked to help my mom out at the Community Center. She also helps out at Rogue Center for single parents or teens who were rejected by their mates. There aren’t many but the fact that there are any makes me sick. Especially those who already have pups. How can you leave your children? They are the only innocent in this world.

“Sure, but we won't be here much longer.”

“That’s okay. I still don't have many friends. Pita and William said they have to work on a project. So I ended up coming to lunch alone.” I put my hand up.

“It’s cool, you can sit with us.” I make room for her to sit at the table and also place her tray.

“So why didn't you go with your friends to work on their project?” I questioned curiously.

“Uh, they have a group project with Jasmine and her bestfriend. If I were to go I would feel like I’m disturbing them.” She sas with a sad smile on her face before she shakes it off.

“Oh! Where are my manners? I’m sure you guys know each other. Am I right?”

I ask looking between Mitchell, Sara and Carmin. When they all nodded their heads, I turned back to face the cafeteria to look for Sean. When I spot him this time, he is looking directly at me. I give a short wave and he jumps but doesn't look away like I expected him to.

What he did next surprised me the most. Not only did he wave back, he waved me over as he pointed to the door. Catching on to what he wanted, I turned back to my friends and Carmin and excuse myself.

“Where are you running off to?” Sara asked as I got and grabbed my bag.

“Someone wants to talk to me. Now if you will all excuse me. I’ll be taking my leave. See you after school you two.”

Mitchell’s mouth fell open while Sara and Carmin both laughed at his expression. I look over my shoulder and see Sean walking out of the cafeteria. Without another word to the others, I try to catch up to Sean. When I got to the door, I didn't see him. “Hey!” Sean calls from his place besides the door. I step out of the door and stand next to him. While also trying to give him enough room so as not to invade his personal space.

“I was wondering if you don't have a class next period. Would you like to join me in the library? I have a project to work on but I would really like to talk to you about a few things. If you don't mind, that is.”

I could tell he was nervous. He keeps biting his lips and rocking back on his heels.

“I actually don't have a class next period.” I said as I smiled down at him. “Shall we then?” He nods and makes his way in the direction of the library. I’m still a bit surprised that he approached me first and so soon. I don't want to get my hopes up yet but it is kind of hard to do. He is so close, all I want to do is pull him closer. Taking a deep breath, I try to calm myself. It feels as though my heart is about to beat out of my chest.

The library is pretty empty aside from the usual crowd that chooses to hang out here over going to the cafeteria. Mrs. Todd doesn't mind us having snacks as long as we clean up after ourselves. Sean stops just inside the door and points to a table in the back of the library. “That is my usual spot. You can head over there now. I have to stop at Jasmine’s table first, to collect the books we are using.” He says.

I give a quick nod and head to the desk he pointed out.

On the way I made a quick stop to grab the books that I needed for my report. I double checked to make sure I grabbed the right books in my hurry, so I don't keep Sean waiting. I wonder if he will give me an answer today or if he just wants to get used to being around me. Either way I will try my best not to mess this up. Whatever this is.

“Sorry. I didn't expect to take that long.” Sean says as he approaches the table.

“It’s cool. But don't you think it would be better to just work with your group. I don't mind sitting with them or we can meet after you finish.”

If he needs to work closely with his group, then I don't want to get in his way.

“No! No, it's fine. We are just putting the finishing touches together and collecting extra data for our presentation.” He pauses for a second looking around us.

“To be completely open and honest with you. I wanted to talk to you alone. Mostly about what you told me on Friday. I have been thinking about it all weekend, to the point of almost driving Jasmine and my step-mom Brenda insane.”

He actually thought about it. If I'm being honest with myself I thought he would’ve gone home and dismissed everything I said. Especially because of the way he reacted.

“What would you like to talk about? I will answer all of your questions to the best of my abilities.” I tried to reassure him when he didn't continue.

“Well for starters. I wanted to apologize for laughing at you when you told me we were mates. I didn't mean to react that way, it was just that your timing couldn't have been any worse.”

Agreed, I should have taken into account that he was going through a lot already.

“All that aside, I would like to get to know you better.” To say I was shocked would be an understatement. I was hoping for this but I honestly didn't expect it this soon. Jeremiah perked up and pushed to the surface. Not to take over but just to let his presence be known.

“Your eyes… Why did your eyes get darker?”

‘He’s scared. I didn't mean to scare him. That was not my intention. I apologize.’

Jeremiah pulls back, feeling bad that he scared Sean more than ever now.

“Sorry. Um… How should I put this?” I pause to take a much needed breath.

“My wolf got a little excited after you said you wanted to get to know us. He didn't mean to scare you.” I can feel the despair rolling off of Jeremiah. It was making my stomach hurt. I also had a slight headache.

“I'm not scared. I found it very interesting. I have never seen such a dark blue before. Your eyes were almost black.”

He smiles and actually looks relaxed, not scared at all. Jeremiah calms a bit but I can still feel that he is upset.

“If you don't mind my asking? What is your wolf's name?”

He’s so adorable, I wish I could’ve gotten to know him earlier. I can't undo the past, I can only try to make a better future.

“His name is Jeremiah. Maybe I’ll let you meet him sometime. He is very eager to meet you. If you couldn't already tell.”

I try being a little flirtatious to see how he would respond.

“I would like that actually. I only get to know my wolf during the full moon. Until my next birthday of course.” That’s right, Omegas aren't fully awaken until their eighteenth birthday. They can't turn without the help of the full moon.

“What is the name of your wolf?”

Sean shifts in his seat. “His name is Summer. Maybe I might let you meet him sometime.”

We continue to talk about little things, not really touching on anything too heavy. I really wanted to ask him about the situation with his mom, but there will be a time and a place for that. Hopefully he will trust me enough to tell me one day.

After a few minutes of us throwing question after question at each other. Both of us sit staring at each other for a few seconds, before we start to quietly laugh. Keeping in mind that we were still in the library. Just as I was about to say something, the bell rang signaling the end of lunch. Sean gasps while looking around the library. I did the same, realizing that we were the only ones left. We have been talking for about ten minutes. I didn't even realize people were leaving. Usually I’m very aware of my surroundings. Being this close to Sean and being able to talk to him like this, it’s intoxicating.

“We should get to work. We can talk as we work, if you like.” Sean says while grabbing one of the books he came back with.

“Before we start, there is something I would like to ask you” I wait for his response. When he nods, I move my gaze to my notebook.

“Would you like to go out with me this weekend? You pick the day, I pick the activity.” When he didn't respond I expected the worst but I decided to push it a bit.

“If you feel uncomfortable being with me by yourself, you can invite whoever you like to come along. So what do you say? Want to go out with me this weekend?”

This time I keep my gaze fixed on his. He is looking directly at me but he isn't moving. I’m not even sure he has blinked in a while. Maybe I was being too impatient and scared him again. Damn, I don't know what to do now.

“Um… Sure. I would like to go out with you. I have to do something on Saturday, so how about Sunday?” He said it so quietly. If it wasn’t for our enhanced hearing I wouldn't have heard him at all.

“Y-Yeah that works perfectly. Will it be ok if I could get your number? That way we can iron out the details.”

Putting my phone on the table I slid it across the table to Sean. He looked at it for a few seconds before picking it up.

“It’s locked.” He says, turning the phone to face me.

“Two-three-one-zero.” I don't mind Sean knowing my password. Hopefully it shows him that I trust him even if he doesn't trust me yet. He types in the password and the frown that was on his face a few moments ago is now replaced with a blinding smile. I wish I had my phone at that moment so I could take a picture.

“Now we should really get to work. I promised the others that I would finish this before the end of the day.” He gave me back my phone and there is a text on the screen to a number I don't recognize. Then it hits me. Sean had text himself from my phone, that way he has my number also.

“Yeah, let's get to work.”

After that we worked with little conversation between us. We were also able to finish what we needed to before the next period started. I was in such a good mood that Mitchell’s jokes didn't bother me, when I met up with them after school. I can't believe I have a date with Sean on Sunday and I was also able to get his phone number. Hopefully I can control myself and not scare him off before our date. Even though I counted today as our first date. He doesn't need to know that. I’ll keep that to myself for now.

I wonder where I should take Sean on Sunday. It has to be something he would enjoy but also lets him get to know me at the same time. Well I have five days to think of something. Crossing my fingers, I look up to the sky feeling the late afternoon sun on my face. Please, please, please don't let me mess this up.

Jax and Jeremiah seem to be walking on eggshells around Sean. Now that Sean has gotten a little used to him, I wonder how he feels.
I know it wasn't the big first date that you would expect but the real one will happen soon. Where do you think Jax will take Sean? Do you think Sean will go by himself or invite Jasmine to go along. We will find out next chapter... I hope

I propose a bowling date! I love bowling. And I'm happy Jeremiah is holding himself back from being too overbearing. I wonder if Sean was asking the two troublemakers about the past, or if they were causing more trouble
