"Wait, what?" Goran said.
"In a few hours it will be dark, is he sane?" Obrvko said.
"Did you try to convince him not to?" Bogdan asked.
"I did, but he's too stubborn." Kalin said.
"What did he tell you anyway?" Goran asked.
“After examining the bodies so that I vomited again and he told me he figured out roughly which monster did it. Then something explained to me some difference between monsters and animals, something that monsters have some powers while animals don’t have them. Honestly, I didn't quite understand it. And then he told me he was going outside and that he would wait for us for a while. As much as I tried to convince him not to, he didn't want to listen to me. "
Bogdan grabbed his head and said:
"Kalin, you were right. He's really some lunatic. Who normally goes outside just before dark and I still do. ”
Obrvko agreed and laughed.
"Should he all go together to convince him not to go?" Goran said.
"Of course. We need him for tomorrow. ” Bogdan said.
"I'm going." Kalin said.
They were still discussing tactics on how to respond to it, so they didn’t even notice. Suddenly, everyone fell silent when the information entered their heads.
"WHAT?!" Bogdan said.
"Kaline think about this." Goran said.
"Don't be mad, if the Captain says it's crazy then you know what it's like."
"I know it's crazy and stupid. I thought about this way up here. I don’t know why but I trust Akar and he reminded me why I joined. So let me be stubborn at least this time. Before I leave, I will tell you what he told me. Are you hunters or food? ”
With that he went in an easy race. The others called him to come back, but he did not listen.
"What happened to him?" Bogdan said.
"I have nothing to do with it. What do you think of Goran? ”
"I'm going too." Goran said.
"Don't start now." Bogdan said.
"I have always trusted Kalin and I see no reason why I should stop now."
He started running slowly and yelled that Kalin was waiting for him.
"Everyone here is crazy except the two of us?" Obrvko said.
"They may be, but we can't leave them alone with him. Do you agree? ”
"Yes, but what are we going to do?"
"Go with them and I'm interested in what Kalin saw in him. Are you coming with me? ”
"To hell and back with you."
"I like to hear that. Let's go to them before they run away whitout us. "
Then they started running to catch up with them. Akar inspected the damage on the observation deck and muttered to himself in his chin as Mrkan slept peacefully beneath it. He heard a story and laughter in the distance and saw four hunters coming.
He lowered himself slightly and scratched Mrkan behind the ear as he waited for them. The dark paw hit the floor and his face showed that he was enjoying it. It wasn't long before they came and Akar said:
"Did you come go with me outside or try to answer me?"
"We're going with you." Goran said.
"Good. Let's go then. ”
"And who will stay in the village?" Kalin said.
"Why should anyone stay in the village?"
"To keep him away while we're gone."
"You mean that. Don't worry, they always go for easier hunting if they can. ”
"And we're easier prey?" Obrvko asked.
"Who else?"
You could see that Akar was already getting a little angry at all this, so he said:
"I have a feeling you've never gone deep into the woods."
"We only went with the baron's soldiers, and if there was no need, we did not go. Since the war started, the baron has not sent his soldiers and we have to go alone. ” Kalin said.
Akar sighed heavily and said:
"Oh my. Stay close to me if you want to survive. ”
This made Bogdan a little angry, but he knew it was true. He relaxed too much and got lazy with the baron's help. That needed to change if he wanted to protect his two angels. He motioned for them to leave and everyone prepared except him and left. He opened the door effortlessly, and they paused for a moment when they saw it. That was not normal for them.
Mrkan came out first, they followed him and Akar closed the door. They were easy to walk, everyone was already a little on the edge of their nerves as the Sun began to set except for Akar.
> He walks so relaxed that it is not normal. When we were about twenty, we still didn't walk so relaxed. But he annoys me so much. He treats us like some children.<
Everyone in the group shunned the statues, trying not to touch any of them. As they passed, they suddenly felt the ground shaking and with a loud sound. They turned, pointing their weapons at the fallen statue.
"How did he fall?" Obrvko asked.
"It was thrown by Mrkan." Kalin said.
"We have to be more careful, we just need a walker now." Goran said.
They agreed and Kalin said:
"Mr. Akar, we-"
The ground shook and everyone bounced off the ground for a second and struck so hard that it would be easy to replace it with lightning. The birds fled the canopy and they turned to see what the hell had happened. A statue tall to the canopy, with a slender body that looks made of spaghetti was on the ground in a cloud of dust and Akar next to it.
"This is the last time I'm waiting for you." Akar said.
“Mr. Akar beware! What if he wakes up !? ” Kalin said, running towards him.
"Don't get hysterical and let's go."
He kept walking. They barely followed him. They wanted it slow, and he wanted it as fast as he could. The sounds of birds, rustling bushes, crickets ... were amplified, but this time they did not pay attention to them. They were preoccupied only by following Akar. He knelt by the wolf's corpse and the corpse that was only part of his chest and head.
"He took one with him, he died like a real hunter. Let Quercus take care of you now. ” Akar whispered so that it could barely be heard.
> Who is Quercus? I guess his deity. I've never heard that name before and that deity, from which hole did he get out from? <
He got up and examined the corpses of wolves along the way. The others stopped at Neven's for a while. Everyone looked at him with tears in their eyes, and Kalin's dam broke a little. They all straightened their backs and put their hand on their heart and pounded twice. They shook their faces with their fists and continued. Akar stood by the fallen tree and watched them. They came to him and he said:
"You get on with the business here, and I'll keep watch."
They nodded and continued with their work. Goran and Obrvko were sawing wood, and Bogdan approached the sledge while Akar was on the top and Mrkan on the bottom. There was a lot less stress now and the work was faster. It didn't take long for them to cut and they started sawing somewhere around the middle of the road in the lower direction of the tree. When the two of them got tired, Kalin and Bogdan took over the sawing. There was the sound of a saw passing through the trunk, finally a good sound. Everyone grabbed their share of the trunk, except of course Akar and Mrkan and lifted it. They felt as if they were being pierced through the skin of the bark and as if their hands would fall off. They toiled and somehow put him on the sled. They did the same with the others and tied them with a rope to them and threw the carcass of the pigeon over. They went to Neven and gently picked him up and put the same on them.
"Mr. Akar, we're ready to go." Kalin said, barely catching his breath.
"Will you leave the wolves?" Akar said with a sign of astonishment in his voice.
"We can't take them now."
"As you say."
As he walked he stopped and looked at Mrkan who raised his head and looked down.
"They are coming!" Akar said.
