Hello! It's been a long time, but here we are Tapas. A long time ago I used Tapas as a mirror site for my comic, Rainy Day Dreams, but it ended up being too much to keep up with for not enough of a reward. In 2019, I redrew the first 5 chapters and ran a successful Kickstarter to publish the first print collection of book 1. In the following time I kept toying with the idea of posting to Tapas again. The trend for webcomics has definitely been skewing towards readers preferring app platforms (even though, to be 100% honest, I hate them), and like all comic creators, I want to get my work in front of readers like you so it can be appreciated. So I'm back!
As part of the relaunch I'm going to do an accelerated posting schedule for the first month. I'll be making one post a day, with the first week's post being three pages long (after this one). After that I'll be dropping down to my regular posting schedule of one page a week. Unless I somehow manage to get 1000 followers in that first month. In which case maybe I'll just do another month of daily posts lol.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy Rainy Day Dreams! I've put a lot of time and love into it's story and characters and I'm excited to share it with you. Rainy Day Dreams is a queer-friendly, character-driven story about relationships, monsters, and defeating evil with kindness (and also sometimes swords cuz swords are cool).
Parallel to Earth a nameless world lurks: a dark inversion, home to monsters, connected only by fleeting rifts in space and time. Tristin, a plucky teen, finds herself trapped in this land of monsters after a treasure hunt gone wrong. Unable to return home, Tristin enters the care of Mara — a grumpy recluse with strange powers and a stranger past. Between navigating monster culture, surviving masquerade balls, and untangling the malevolent motives of the mysterious Michael, the cards seem stacked against the pair as they try to make the best of a less than ideal situation.
