Days 24. and 25.
I couldn't sleep or eat or concentrate in school.
All I could think of was how awful person I was. Jax was returning back behind his walls while I was too busy pondering my options. I didn't have too many options left. I knew what I had to do.
I was too ashamed and too afraid to tell Jax the truth, but I could always end the bet.
I got up that morning and first thing I did was to find my checkbook. I wrote the check for Caleb and put it in my back bag. I didn't care about the money. I would gladly give everything I owned just to have Jax. I would give anything to make the bet to disappear.
I walked past my dad when I went to downstairs and headed outside. My parents weren't talking to me still. It hurt, but I ignored it and them. It would hurt a lot more if Jax would ever find out why the two of us were together.
I went to pick up Jessica.
"You look awful", she greeted me while sitting down on the front seat.
"Thanks - I haven't been sleeping much.." I told her.
"Are you still worried about Jax finding out about the bet?"
I had told her everything what was in my mind and she had agreed when I said my only option was to buy myself out of the bet.
"I can't loose him", I only said.
When we arrived at school I went to look for Caleb. I didn't see Jax anywhere, so he I knew he had retreated back to his hiding places. I knew I had been asshole towards him the past few days, but now I was going to fix everything.
"Caleb!" I shouted when I saw him.
"Nic - how's it going?" He gave me an evil grin, but his expression dropped when I handed over his check.
"I'm done - it's over now", I told him when he took the check.
"What? Why?" he asked in astonishment. "I thought things were going well."
"Listen - I don't want to hear anything about the bet ever again, alright? Jax can never find out about it", I told him.
"So Daniel was telling the truth - you are in love with him", Caleb said and laughed a little. "Who would have thought that Nicholas Gabriel, the perfect boy, would fall in love with another dude."
"Promise me you won't say anything to him", I pleaded.
"Alright, alright - I promise. You know you can trust me", Caleb said and I could tell he was serious.
"That's great", I let out a long sigh.
"So you are gay now, huh?" Caleb smirked. "Still cant believe it, but hey - at least we both got something out of this", he said and put the check carefully in his pocket. "Good luck mate."
It was over. I was free to be with Jax now. I felt relieved and liberated. And I missed my kitten badly.
I practically ran up on the roof feeling happier by every step I took.
It's over. The bet is over.
I got out of the door up on the roof and saw my Jax leaning against the rail at the edge of the roof. I walked to him and put my hands around his waist.
"Good morning, kitten", I said to him happily.
"Ugh - I prefer Snake", he said with annoyed tone in his voice.
I leaned my chin against his shoulder and hugged him tightly. He was leaning his arms against the rail and his head against his arms with a smoke between his lips.
I inhaled his scent and I could finally smile again.
"Aren't you in a good mood today", Jax said.
"How can you tell?" I asked, he hadn't even looked at me yet.
"Because you are being handsy again", he said. "I started to think you forgot about me already."
I hugged him even tighter. "I could never forget you."
"Is that so?" he asked and turned around in my arms.
He looked me and I felt a jolt going trough my body.
This is real! I'm with him for real now, not because of some stupid bet!
I was feeling happier than ever. I leaned in to kiss his perfect lips and held him closer to my body.
"You know -" Jax said after breaking our kiss "- my dad got me tickets to this concert for tonight if you want to go?"
"Of course I want to go", I told him.
"You don't even know what the band is", Jax laughed.
My god he looks hot when he laughs!
He really did - his eyes were shining and there was dimples around his perfect lips and his white teeth glimmered in sunlight behind them.
"As long as I'm with you I don't care where were are or what we are doing", I told him truthfully.
"I - I feel the same", he said, looking surprisingly shy and I couldn't be happier.
This amazing person is mine!
I kissed him yet again with all my might.
"My dad Alex works here", Jax told me when I parked my car in front of the club which seemed to be full with people our age.
"They have these kid's nights once a month - There's always one or two bands from the nearby schools playing", Jax explained.
"I know - I have been here before", I told him.
He lifted his eyebrow at me. "I'm not surprised about that", he said.
He took my hand and led me in the club. There was a long line in front of us, but the bouncer waved at Jax.
"Hey kiddo", the tall man said.
"Hey dad", Jax said and even in the dark I could tell he was blushing. "So uhm, this is Nic.."
"Nicholas Gabriel", his dad said and crossed his arms on his chest. "So you are the guy who's dating my son."
Alex Jackson was a big guy. And extremely intimidating. And apparently Jax's dad - who seemed to already hate me.
Oh goodie - this wont go too well..
"Dad stop - he's cool", Jax said.
"I'll make that decision", Alex said while glaring at me. "If you hurt my baby boy I'll break your fucking neck - do you understand?"
Now I know where Jax got his lovely nature..
"I understand, sir", I said as convincing as I could.
"Good - now off you go then, but don't have any fun", he said, still glaring at me.
"Daaad.." Jax sighed embarrassed.
He's too cute..
I gave Jax a smile when we got inside the club.
"Sorry about that - he's overprotective sometimes.." Jax said.
"Don't worry about it - I have met plenty of dads in my.. Uh.." I trailed off when Jax lifted his eyebrows at me in disbelief.
"No - I have never met anyone's dad before and your dad was truly intimidating and I think I'm too scared to date you anymore", I said to him jokingly.
"Ha, ha - very funny", he said and grabbed the collar of my shirt, planting a long kiss on my lips. "You are mine now - don't you forget it."
"Aren't you being frisky today", I said to him, pleased by his playfulness.
He gave me a smile and let go of me, walking deeper among the crowd. I followed him, keeping my eyes on his lean body. He had white jeans with black stripes on them - the skinny jeans hugged his round ass perfectly. He had a white small T-shirt and his black, tight little vest on him. His clothes were so small and so tight I could see the skin of his hips. His left side was covered in scars, but you could barely see them in the dark club. He had his sleeves on and a black tie on his neck. His hair was flowing freely all around his shoulders, but his bangs were pinned away from his beautiful face.
I grabbed his hand and stopped him. I wanted to taste his perfect lips again, so I kissed him. I had my hands on his hips, caressing his skin and I felt his arms going around my neck. The music was playing loudly and I soon realized we were moving with the rhythm, kissing each other while we danced.
Once we broke apart to take a breath I noticed we weren't the only couple doing the same. I saw Alan and Cecilia close to us and Cecilia was finally silent when they kissed like me and Jax had kissed just moment before.
I saw Jessica with some guy near the stage and it looked like they were going to be making out soon enough.
Is this how it feels to be alive?
I looked at Jax who kept his eyes on mine. He was only a little shorter than me, but he seemed really small in my arms. He cupped my cheeks with his hands and pulled my face close to his, he was standing on his toes when he brushed my lips with his.
Jax had promised to teach me a thing or two about life, but I was certain this was the only lesson I needed. This feeling I had inside me for the first time in my life was all I needed to know about life.
I was truly happy at that moment.
