Beatrice’s pov
I parked my car in the school's parking lot. It was my second day of high school and today I'm determined to make the best of the time I have left
As I hopped out the car and locked it, I was instantly surrounded by the walking bones they called humans
They either stared at the car or me. It was kind of weird, they reached over to each others ear and whispered whatever it was they were thinking
I pushed through the crowd to head to the school door, I caught a glimpse of Zack who stared in awe at the car.
"Whoa, that's your car?" Zack says walking up to join me
"Yep, my father got me it two days ago" I smiled proudly
"Damn, all I ever got from my dad was a 'are you gay' talk when I joined cheerleading" Zack chuckled
"I'm sure your father means well"
"He does, I just wish he was educated enough on the new generation" Zack smiled weakly
"So what do you think about school so far?" He says
"I've only had one class so far, my father didn't want to overwork me so I barely have classes" I explained
"You've got it pretty good Beatrice, hopefully you'll take that extra time and join a team"
We made our way into the school, I walked with Zack to tiny doors in the wall, he said they were called lockers. Yikes
"It depends, what's there to join?" I continued our conversation
"Well, there's basketball, football, tennis, honestly we've got all the sports"
"I'll think about it" I said, maybe it'll be fun to do something with my spare time, or I could just stuff my face
A vibration came from my pants, pulling me out of my thoughts
Zack and I walked into class, I assumed it was English. I found my way to the back seat and kicked my feet on the desk
What? It's comfortable, don't judge me
I slid my fingers into my back pocket and pulled out my phone to see a message from Olivia
"Can you be anymore of a wattpad lesbian stereotype" Bella rolled her eyes. I placed my phone on the desk
"You read books about lesbians?" I glanced over to see Bella sitting in the chair next to mine looking gorgeous as ever. Her straight blonde hair was combed into a high pony while some smaller ends hung loosely at her ear. There wasn't words to describe how beautiful this girl is
"I do not!"
"Then how would you know what a Wattpad lesbian is?" I smirked
"I-" she was then cut off by the teacher
"Good morning class, grab a book and let's dive into today's topic" the man said passing around books
The person before me passed a textbook over, I opened the pages and noticed I've actually read everything there was to know
Back at home we had a massive library filled with books from earth, heaven and some published by my father. Sometimes when I get bored I'd just pick up a maths book and pass the time. Not to brag but I'm pretty good at almost every subject they had to offer. I'm just here for the experience
I closed the book and pulled my phone to my face to check Olivia's message
"You can't use your phone in class" Bella spat
"Why not?"
"What are you? Ten?!"
"I think of myself as a ten" I smirked
"You're so full of yourself" she rolled her eyes
"Amon, Green, cut it out" The elderly man shouted from the board
I tilted my head and finally read the message
Olivia: Stay out of trouble
Does she not think I'm responsible? I'm eighteen thousand years old for fuck sakes. My father is the RULER of hell and all things evil, so what if I spent an hour doing nothing? I do that everyday in hell.
I could physically feel the rage take over me, my jaw clenched and I felt my body heat up by the second
"Are you gonna get off your phone?" Bella's voice rang in my ear
"Are you gonna shut the fuck up?" I questioned. That was mean
"What the fuck is your problem" she spat
"That's it, you two. Principal's office. Now."
Bella stood and pushed her chair away, she groaned and stormed out of the class. I rolled my eyes and followed her
I walked down the halls to the office, Bella was inches away from me.
"Morning ladies, is there anything I can help you with?" Mr Green asked as we entered his office
"Ask her what's her problem with me" Bella eyes threw daggers into my side profile
"Mister Hoen, shed some light on this situation" he says to the English teacher who stood behind us
"They were cussing in class, Beatrice was on her phone and it just happened" He said, oh shut the fuck up
"Is this true Bella?" Mr Green asked
"She started it-"
"It doesn't matter, you know better than to use such words in a classroom Bella. I'm disappointed in you" he said to his daughter, her head bowed in sadness
"And you Beatrice, come on. You're new here. I heard you even got detention yesterda-"
"Can everyone just stop talking about me being in fucking detention, it's annoying and I'm over it." I really am. I've been through way worse but all everyone seems to see me as is the new girl that got detention on the first day
Mr Green sighed and ran a hand through his grey hair.
"What do you think Mr Hoen?" he looked to the English teacher
"Well, the theatre department could use some extra hands on their props"
"Hell no, I'm not spending my afternoon painting wood. Dad I have practice, my team NEEDS me" she pleaded, Mr Green shook his head
"You two need to learn to get along, a few hours alone should do"
Oh what a mistake that was
Bella groaned and sunk further into her chair, Mr Green waived for us to leave.
"This is your fault, You've got this target on my back for no reason and you're just doing things to piss me off and kick me off the team! You want to take over it since you're hot and yo-"
"You think I'm hot?" I smirked, Bella stood in her tracks, her lips parted but not a word came out
We were standing in the hallway, it was empty. Bella's eyes were on the floor as if she was in deep thinking. I took a step closer to her
"Tell me what's going on in your head" I whispered, she remained silent
Her eyes finally met mine, I could feel tell she was fighting herself internally
"Oh come on Bella, if you want me just say so" I brought my hand to her face, my thumb slowly stroking her cheek. Her eyes shut tightly as she nervously bit her lip. I leaned over to her ear
"You know you want to" I whispered, her body instantly tensed up
Should I take it a step further?
The school bell suddenly went off to answer my question. Bella shoved my chest causing me to stumble backwards
I guess I deserved that
She stormed off to her next class and I stood there in the middle of the hallways again with hormonal teenagers pushing pass to get to their classes
"You alright there Beatrice?" Joanna asked as she slightly nudged our shoulders
"I'm great, what's up?" I asked as we walked to class
"I'm a little sore from practice yesterday, are you heading to Theatre class?" she asked
"I am" I smiled as we walked into the class
"Settle down everyone, now I know we're all excited for our Hamilton musical next week but we still need volunteers to assist with props" The teacher says
"I think Bella and I are your extra hands this afternoon" I say
The class's neck snapped towards me with wide eyes
What? Is there something on my face?
"Did you just say Bella?" Joanna asked
"Yes? What's the problem?"
"She won't show up, she would never do something like that, her image means more" Joanna says before turning back to face the teacher
Won't show huh? I'll make sure she does
