“No. He’s my dad’s boyfriend’s son. His name is Haru. My dad’s boyfriend’s name is Marcus. He’s going to be staying the night with us.” He doesn’t seem to like the idea very much. Mom sits herself down after setting up the last bit of food. “Let’s eat,” she says. Everybody at the same time started throwing food onto their plate. This feels nice. I’m eating with my father for the first time in years and Marcus is here. I even got to meet his son. The best and worst part is that Ty’s here.
“This food is the best Margret.” “I’m glad you are enjoying yourself then Haru. Has Caleb introduced you to Tyler just yet?” “No mom I haven’t. Haru, this is Tyler. Everybody just calls him Ty though. He’s my childhood friend.” “Friend you say.” That look on his face is as if he just heard some interesting news or something. It feels like Haru is trying to start a farce with Tyler, but what for?
We finish up eating and wrap up our conversations. It is already 6 so I guess instead of forcing dad to help me clean out the guest room I could ask Ty and Haru for help. “Hey cutie. You look like you were ready to ask me something.” “I was going to ask if you and Ty would help me clean out the guest room for dad and Marcus.” “I guess I wouldn’t mind. Spending more time with you is quite worth it.”
He is such a tease and I keep falling for it!! Grr. “Caleb.” “Yeah?” “I don’t like you being around him so much. He isn’t right for you.” What is your deal? Why should you even care whom I do and don’t date? I continue walking. I mean, I don’t even know how to respond to that anyway.
