Hi! Thank you for choosing this novel! You can skip this introduction but since I mixed a couple of different werewolf universes, I highly suggest you read it so you won’t be lost in all the alpha-omega-wolf thingy. Having said that, let’s start!

There are three second genders: Alpha (in red), Omega (in turquoise) and Delta (in grey). Those genders are in fact attributed to the wolf when he is born. Depending on the gender, it will have certain repercussions on the human form of the werewolf.

The werewolf's basic information

When a werewolf is born, he has two souls (a human one and a wolf one) as well as two forms (a human form and a wolf form). The souls each have a different source of energy. When the human soul is tired, that doesn't mean the wolf soul is. The bodies, even if working on a different energy source than the souls are both on the same source. In other words, there are three energy sources: one for the human soul, one for the wolf soul and the last one (much bigger) for the two bodies.* To get the energy back, a werewolf can sleep (just one of the souls or the two souls plus the bodies), eat or do anything else that naturally helps regain energy. A wolf would normally show themself to their human around the age of three-four years old. It is possible to talk to a wolf by thoughts. During those conversations, what the wolf says will be in bold while the human’s thoughts will be in italic. Note that when the wolf takes control of the body it will be invested (Wolf in italic and human in bold). Depending on the second gender, the eye colour of the wolf form will change. As shown in the picture above, the alphas will have red eyes, the omegas cyan eyes and the deltas grey eyes. The colour shade can change according to the wolf. Thereby, an omega wolf could have some dark blue eyes and an alpha wolf some pinkish eyes.

Alphas basics and anatomy

They represent the third of the werewolf population. A human with an alpha wolf will be considered an alpha as well. Alphas have scent glands at the intersection of the neck and the shoulders which are made to attract omegas and spread pheromones. They will also be taller and stronger than the betas and the omegas. There are two types of alphas, the dominant and the recessive. The dominants are the leaders of the packs. There is a maximum of two dominant alphas per pack: the leader and his son. They are even bigger than recessive alphas and have stronger pheromones. During mating, an alpha will bite their omegas scent gland creating the mating mark. They will also knot their omega after cumming, process permitting to ensure that the omega gets pregnant. Once or twice a year, alphas will go into a sexual frenzy called the ruts. Ruts normally last a week or so. During this time, alphas will emit pheromones uncontrollably and try to mate with any omega they encounter. the ruts can be calmed with some suppressants.

Omegas basics and anatomy

They represent the third of the werewolf population. A human with an omega wolf will be considered an omega as well. Omegas will have scent glands at the intersection of the neck and the shoulders which are made to attract alphas and spread pheromones. They will also be smaller and have a frailer constitution than the alphas and the betas. During mating, an omega will bite their alphas scent gland creating the mating mark. Like a female one, a male omega will produce slick and be able to get pregnant. Once a month, omegas will go into a sexual frenzy called heat. The heats normally last a week or so. During this time, omegas will be in pain, emitting pheromones uncontrollably and trying to mate with any alpha they encounter. The pain can be calmed with a suppressant or by mating an alpha which explains their need for an alpha.

Deltas basics and anatomy

They represent the last third of the werewolf population. A human with a delta wolf will be considered delta as well. Deltas do not have scent glands, so they cannot produce or smell pheromones. They do not have the heat or rut cycle. In other AU they are known as betas.

Suppressants

Suppressants have many uses. They can calm the ruts and heats but a certain type also can hide the smell of pheromones. It is called a gender suppressant. They are to use with parsimony since they can affect the system of the wolf who decides to take them. For example, an omega who takes too many gender suppressants can lose its capacity to give birth.

*It's not literal energy sources, it's pretty much just the energy they have after taking a nap or something like that. It's the same energy as us. I hope it's not too confusing...
